During the process of converting flowers into oil, many active ingredients are lost. According to Sasha Robinson, flowers contain over 80 ingredients that interact with one another to provide the relief you describe. The oil in your vape pen contains only a few, and the ones that are missing might be the ones that benefit you the most. Personally, I wanted to switch to vaping from smoking flower because of the health consequences associated with inhaling smoke. I have found that vaping wax provides stronger relief than flowers and is a great alternative to a vape cartridge as I feel the wax has retained certain ingredients that are lost in the process of creating vape cartridges. Live Resin and Rosin are also forms of concentrates, like wax, however even more ingredients are retained in these forms and you may want to give them a try. In a pinch this will work, but you are just giving yourself a mildly concentrated bowl. You would be far better off vaping the wax in a dual coil or ceramic vaporizer (if you don't have a concentrate piece of course) and keeping the flowers to use separately.\n\nThe proper way to go about smoking wax on flower is to first make sure you have a reasonable sized diameter bowl for your pipe (this is not really going to work with a one-hitter). You will want to fill it and pack it down. Then, place the wax on top of the flower, ensuring that you spread it across the flower as uniformly and as thinly as you can. \n\nYou want to do this so a glob of wax does not fall right through into your pipe. Now, hold the lighter close without touching the wax. Let the wax melt into the flower, taking care that it does not start to boil/vaporize. Once the wax has spread throughout the flowers, start with a \"corner\" of the bowl and let things burn slowly (they will now that your flower is glazed in wax). Voila! \n\nYou can now smoke your wax on the flower without burning off too much of it or letting it drip through the flower into the pipe. Still, a bit of a waste in my opinion, but I know those who enjoy it.\n\nRyan\n_____________________\n\nYes! You can put wax or oil on top of cannabis flowers and smoke it using a bowl, however, i would recommend vaporizing wax if at all possible. You would want to vaporize the wax because it is far more efficient as you may be wasting some of the wax by burning it off. \n\nCombustion of flowers occurs at approximately 450°F- while wax combusts at approximately 320°F so you would be burning some of the wax off before the flowers begin to burn.\n\nHave you tried the VapeXhale? This would be your best bet to eliminate the wheezing and be a \"healthier\" alternative to smoking from a pipe or bong. Because the bong is allowing for a much larger hit / smoke intake than the pipe, that is probably why you experience more wheezing.\n\nalexa\n_____________________\nThis is because your average sized glass bong is forcing you to take bigger hits, which in turn forces your lungs to expand more. We would recommend a Vaporizer or the Volcano. These will give you the same feeling while also preserving your lings (you only get one pair I have been told :) preventing you from coughing so much.
