The only way for you to legally access cannabis oil, would be to travel to a legal state, such as California, obtain a medical marijuana recommendation while here, and then purchase it from a legal dispensary. Keep in mind, that you would not be able to bring the oil back with you to Texas, as transporting cannabis across state lines is against federal law.\n\nashleigh","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8506-markdown","title":"Is it safe to take cannabis oil and Lexapro at the same time?","slug":"is-it-safe-to-take-cannabis-oil-and-lexapro-at-the-same-time","content":"\n_____________________\nIt is safe to use cannabis with Lexapro. Possible effects that may occur in conjunction are: Lexapro, a SSRI, may increase the affect and duration of cannabis; in rare cases using a SSRI plus cannabis can lead to a psychotic event described as mania (usually via edibles or with Bipolar disorder).\n\ndrb\n_____________________\nAny doctor would tell you it isn't safe to mix substances such as one as minor as marijuana in comparison to other drugs. I take Lexapro https://pillcomparer.com/lexapro-vs-wellbutrin.html for depression/anxiety and smoke marijuana daily while on it. I haven't experienced a single negative side effect. But your pharmaceutical drug in question is different than mine. I'd say you'd have to give it a try yourself, and not go off of what others tell you. Everyone's body reacts differently to different substances, especially when they are mixed. If you do decide to try a combination of the two, I'd suggest smoking a very minimal amount of marijuana to begin with, and slowly work your amount of green smoked from there. I'd also suggest having a buddy around while you do so, just in case something happens to you and you need medical assistance. I hope that helps a little!\n\nalexborn","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8483-markdown","title":"Cannabis solutions for 'can i buy clone plants'","slug":"cannabis-solutions-for-can-i-buy-clone-plants","content":"","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8476-markdown","title":"What form of cannabis and dosage should I use to treat throat cancer?","slug":"what-form-of-cannabis-and-dosage-should-i-use-to-treat-throat-cancer","content":"\"I have cancer in my throat and lymph nodes.\"\n_____________________\nCannabis is not a primary treatment for throat cancer. What is the best method of taking it? What is the correct CBD % content? \"\n_____________________\nAccording to the American Cancer Society, Prostate cancer that has spread to nearby lymph nodes is categorized under 'regional stage'. The 5-year survival rate for regional stage prostate cancer is nearly 100%. There is no scientific data in regards to the prognosis with the use of cannabis oil. \nThe goal of hormone therapy for prostate cancer is to reduce the levels of male hormones. There are two types of drugs used for hormone therapy: luteinizing hormone-releasing hormones (LH-RH) agonist and androgen-blocking drugs. Medical marijuana is not known to have any significant interactions with prostate hormone therapy medications. Research demonstrates that various cannabinoids inhibit cancer cell growth. Cannabinoids also help cancer patients by treating nausea, vomiting and pain and by stimulating appetite. Unfortunately there are no studies on the exact dose for the treatment of cancer in humans. Anecdotal reports suggest a high CBD low THC ratio (10:1 or 20:1), titrating up in milligrams as tolerated. \n\ntatiananp","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8463-markdown","title":"How much cannabis juice should I drink to manage my pain?","slug":"how-much-cannabis-juice-should-i-drink-to-manage-my-pain","content":"\"I have fresh cannabis leaf juice. I am over 65 years old, and weigh 250lbs. What would a good starting amount of juice to drink (ounces or grams) to reduce pain from lumbar stenosis?\"\n_____________________\nIf you know your juicing source, I would first suggest finding out when the juice was harvested. If it is later in plant's growth, it is possible the juice may have trichomes deposited on the leaves which can make it psychoactive. Just an FYI. \n\nI too have stenosis and drink juice pretty regularly. There's no particular upper limit but that being said, cannabis juice is quite acidic, so let your stomach be your guide. It can be mixed very nicely with other juices to make delicious smoothies. I think that the anti-inflammatory properties in cannabis are very present in the juice- at least for me, so I recommend you start with a few ounces, monitor your pain level and go up gradually if you need to, again making sure you have no digestive issues. My main strains I would take before bed with some melatonin. They were Lemon OG and Blueberry pie (THC dominant). \r\nLately, I've developed sleep anxiety. Taking anything weed related only seemed to make it worse. I incorporated a tincture to help me sleep, however today especially after sleeping 10hrs, I woke up and all day just little epinephrine rushes sometimes for no reason. I've been to doctors over the last week or so and they say I'm fine. I've been meditating, deep breathing, and putting my faith in myself, but this feels a little more than psychosomatic. Any help?\"\n_____________________\nHello and thank you for the great question, \n\nI believe you are referring to adrenal fatigue, which is not recognized as a legitimate diagnosis by allopathic medicine. However, I do believe that there is some merit to the theory. \n\nThere are no studies on humans which evaluate the long term effects of cannabis on the adrenal glands. However, cannabis has been shown to elevate cortisol levels, which of course, is central to the theory of adrenal fatigue. However, this effect is relatively short lived and I doubt cannabis, when used in moderation or sparingly, would cause long term adverse effects on adrenal glands. However, if used heavily, I would hypothesize that cannabis could have some negative effects on the adrenal glands - most likely not permanent though. \n\nFirst and foremost, you should consult your primary care physician to discuss your symptoms so that he/she could evaluate you properly; I cannot offer you a valid opinion without asking you more questions, performing a pertinent physical exam and possibly running laboratory tests. I will say, however, that it sounds most likely a psychosomatic reaction. \n\nIt also sounds like you may be sensitive to THC, which has been shown to have cardiovascular effects like elevated heart rate and changes in blood pressure; THC is also the main culprit in elevated anxiety and even paranoia in some. \n\nConsidering the above and the choices you inquired about, lemon OG would be the better choice for sleep and would also be much less prone to causing elevated anxiety and heart rate. \n\nHowever, I would recommend you try \"high CBD strains\" which have much lower THC concentrations than both lemon OG and especially blueberry pie. \n\nHere are some of my recommended high CBD strains. \n- The INDICA would be the choice for sleep.\n\n-Some recommended high CBD strains-\nSATIVA - Harlequin is one of the most popular CBD strains available. Typically testing around the 5:2 CBD/THC ratio, it exhibits a sativa-dominant alertness with only mild euphoria. Harlequin has a happy bent that most will find enhances whatever activity they are engaged in.\n\nHYBRD - ACDC is easily my favorite CBD strain. The cannabinoid content is usually heavily CBD-dominant, sitting on average at 20:1 in its CBD/THC ratio. An imperceptible amount of THC makes ACDC an outstanding companion for daily medicinal cannabis consumers seeking to relieve tension, pain, or anxiety.\n\nINDICA - Stephen Hawking Kush offers mild, relaxing effects while doling out a healthy dose of CBD, too. This indica-dominant strain is one of the more unique CBD cuts out there, offering both heady and soothing effects.\n\ndrkim","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8453-markdown","title":"Are there certain types of cannabis that work well with ALS?","slug":"are-there-certain-types-of-cannabis-that-work-well-with-als","content":"\n_____________________\nThe possible benefits of cannabis in ALS are an important area of current research. Here is a link to a good review: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5270417/?report=classic. Cannabis contains many cannabinoids besides THC and CBD, and I would favor whole plant preparations over extracts as extracts may not contain important constituents active in the context of ALS. I would use a strain or combination of strains rich in both THC and CBD. While reduction of symptoms such as spasticity is one benefit to be sought, considering the lack of toxicity associated with cannabis the possibility of it having \"neuroprotective\" effects in ALS would warrant considering regular intake of medicinal cannabis. I strongly recommend discussing this with your neurologist.\n\ndrelkind","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8446-markdown","title":"Has anyone used cannabis to cure ovarian cancer, and if so what dose and in what form? Home cultivation will not be permitted as the law stipulates a single, state-licensed supplier to provide marijuana to the state. It's anticipated that one or two Louisiana universities will be selected as the providers. \n\nShould you anticipate visiting California, you can use HelloMD to obtain a California medical marijuana recommendation while you are here. However, some studies have shown that cannabis use could be associated with acute coronary syndrome or myocardial infarction. It is important to be followed closely by a healthcare provider who knows all the medication you are taking including the use of medical cannabis. Cannabis is known to interact with the blood thinner Coumadin which some people with stents might take. It could also decrease your blood pressure. You should monitor your blood pressure at home when using cannabis if you are taking blood pressure medication. I would also advise to try sublingual administration instead of inhalation.
