Will weed gummies help?***\n\nAmy R. \n\n-------------------\n\nLong-lasting weight loss requires changing daily habits, like eating different foods and exercising more often. Weed gummies won’t directly cause weight loss, but they can support these healthy lifestyle changes. Even though marijuana is known to cause “[the munchies](https://www.hellomd.com/articles/the-munchies-will-make-you-fat-right-think-again),” [marijuana consumers weigh less on average will ultimately gain more weight.](https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/04/190419094026.htm#:~:text=Summary:,) than non-consumers. And to many people’s surprise, some [cannabis strains are known to suppress the appetite](https://hellomd.ca/articles/4-cannabis-strains-that-won't-give-you-the-munchies).\n\nIn studies, [cannabidiol (CBD)](https://www.hellomd.com/tag/cbd) has shown it can [reduce appetite, improve insulin sensitivity](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25595882/), and [increase metabolism](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6163475/) without any intoxicating effects. But the new trending weight-loss cannabinoid is tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV). Anecdotally, [THCV has been presented as an appetite suppressant](https://www.hellomd.com/articles/psychoactive-thcv-the-cannabinoid-that-kills-your-appetite). THCV seems to have the opposite effect of THC, making you less hungry and less likely to experience the junk food munchies.\n\nMarijuana affects our eating habits via the [CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors](https://www.hellomd.com/articles/beyond-the-cb1-and-cb2-cannabis-receptors-trpv1-and-gpr55) of [the endocannabinoid system](https://www.hellomd.com/articles/what-is-the-endocannabinoid-system). THC stimulates the CB1 receptor while THCV blocks the CB1 receptor. \n\nIt’s thought that THCV also [takes our brain out of “autopilot” mode](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26362774/), which is when you might eat a whole box of cookies without even noticing. It’s thought to increase our brain’s conscious decision-making, so you may be more likely to reach for carrot and hummus over potato chips as a snack. Part of the beauty of THCV is that it keeps you so motivated and busy that you might even forget about food for a while.\n\n![Hello1-min (36).png](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Hello1_min_36_122b1e4e4c.png)\n\n[Wana Optimals Fit gummies](https://www.wanabrands.com/products/gummies/optimals/optimals-fit-rec) are one of the first THCV gummy products available to support weight loss. It’s a fast-acting edible, making it a more convenient option than traditional edibles, which can take up to two hours to take effect. \n\nThe combined effects of CBD and THCV reduce appetite, increase focus and energy, and relieve stress - and they won’t make you high. I like **Wana Optimals Fit gummies** because you can take them any time of day - like when you need extra motivation to work out or, for me, to prevent binge-snacking. Chocolate chip cookies, anyone? I also like that there are no real adverse effects to my weed gummies as long as you stay hydrated, and they won’t give you the jitters like traditional diet pills.\n\nMost other THCV products are marketed towards increased focus. Weight loss is an indirect benefit, so they don’t advertise for it. [Level’s Stimulate sublingual tablets](https://levelexperience.com/products/stimulate-tablingual/) contain THCV and CBG. Care By Design carries a whole [line of “focus” products](https://www.cbd.org/products/focus) that contain THCV, including capsules, gummies, and droplets.\n\nWe will probably see more THCV products come to market as people discover the unique benefits of THCV. Used the right way, cannabis is an excellent tool for weight management because it’s natural and has the added benefits of relaxation.\n\nJanet S.","image":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"base64":"data:image/png;base64,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","aspectRatio":1,"src":"/static/37f40a326fbbb3cd826dd373925954ba/31476/dceb00d518d5b8c3c2cdb9ba43cbb866.png","srcSet":"/static/37f40a326fbbb3cd826dd373925954ba/69585/dceb00d518d5b8c3c2cdb9ba43cbb866.png 200w,\n/static/37f40a326fbbb3cd826dd373925954ba/497c6/dceb00d518d5b8c3c2cdb9ba43cbb866.png 400w,\n/static/37f40a326fbbb3cd826dd373925954ba/31476/dceb00d518d5b8c3c2cdb9ba43cbb866.png 761w","srcWebp":"/static/37f40a326fbbb3cd826dd373925954ba/1d747/dceb00d518d5b8c3c2cdb9ba43cbb866.webp","srcSetWebp":"/static/37f40a326fbbb3cd826dd373925954ba/61e93/dceb00d518d5b8c3c2cdb9ba43cbb866.webp 200w,\n/static/37f40a326fbbb3cd826dd373925954ba/1f5c5/dceb00d518d5b8c3c2cdb9ba43cbb866.webp 400w,\n/static/37f40a326fbbb3cd826dd373925954ba/1d747/dceb00d518d5b8c3c2cdb9ba43cbb866.webp 761w","sizes":"(max-width: 761px) 100vw, 761px"}}}}},{"node":{"id":"Question_12680-markdown","title":"What is Kief?","slug":"what-is-kief","content":"“***'Kief’ is one of those words I’ve heard in connection to weed, but I’m not sure what it means. Is it something to do with hash?***”\n\nAnton C.\n\n____________\n\nYou’re right, kief is used for hash, among other things. Basically, [kief (commonly misspelled as ‘keef’)](https://www.hellomd.com/articles/what-is-kief-and-hash) is the small, sticky crystals you see on the outside of cannabis plants. They're the external resin pockets that contain many of the cannabinoid compounds — such as [THC](https://www.hellomd.com/tag/thc), [CBD](https://www.hellomd.com/tag/cbd), and [terpenes](https://www.hellomd.com/articles/what-are-cannabis-terpenes-and-how-do-they-work) — which make marijuana such an interesting plant. It can provide a high for recreational use and a host of health benefits for medical use.\n\nOn the plant, kief is part of the [trichomes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trichome), aka “hairs,” covering it. Trichomes are used by different plants for different reasons — often for self-preservation. In the case of the Venus flytrap, the predatory plant uses them to sense prey before trapping and consuming it.\n\nWith marijuana plants, trichomes could serve to deter predators by making them high as they seek to consume them. The trichomes’ resin smell would also attract insects that could pollinate cannabis plants and spread their seeds.\n\nIn any event, kief is a highly psychoactive marijuana compound that can be consumed and used in different ways. For example, some people who like to use weed concentrates but find them too costly will turn to kief to get similar effects.\n\nBefore you use it, kief has to be processed. But this is no biggie for a home user. You can [process kief (and also make hash)](https://hellomd.ca/articles/how-to-make-cannabis-hash-at-home) quite easily.\n\n![Hello1-min (47).png](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Hello1_min_47_66b7821d47.png)\n\nThe kief crystals must be separated from other plant materials to ensure their purity and get them ready for consumption. To do this, you would use a [multi-chamber herb grinder](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=herb+grinders+for+cannabis&crid=3RTHJ8IOABHQ3&sprefix=herb+grinder%2Caps%2C93&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_4_12), filtering the kief through a series of increasingly fine screens.\n\nYou can also collect greater quantities of kief by rubbing marijuana plant material onto a silkscreen and often using a stack of silkscreens with increasingly fine mesh, as with grinders.\n\nThen you might ask, what to do with kief? You could smoke it, rolling it into a joint or tobacco cigarette. \n\nYou can [consume it in a variety of ways](https://www.wikihow.com/Use-Kief). Perhaps sprinkle it on your morning coffee or tea or over some meal you’ve cooked to give it an extra “kick.” Or you could make kief butter, which can be used to make edibles such as brownies and cookies.\n\nAnd then you can make hash in a heating and pressurization process, pressing the kief pollen into bricks, which become darker the more you press them. \n\nHash is generally stronger than other weed products, so you can have quite an intense experience using only a little. And while hash doesn’t have a lot of mainstream popularity these days, that doesn’t mean you can’t be a cannabis outlier, enjoying kief as an affordable and highly enjoyable form of marijuana.\n\nWith its potency, it can also be a good choice for medical uses, such as chronic pain and some mood disorders.\n\nMarianne F.\n","image":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"base64":"data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAABQAAAAUCAIAAAAC64paAAAACXBIWXMAAA7DAAAOwwHHb6hkAAAEvUlEQVQ4yw3O/VOSdwAA8O/aams1S2ukLck3wlNB3uRFQEBe5FVe5AEFeQchXh7UUBCQlwBTHCopmLZAOzXLrJllOaur1W11W9fdbnf7Yf/M9vkLPgAcOwW+On3seAUApyjt6PNViC+/rqiuuXQacameiCXKuhwhXbYUparIsiHBUNTRISd0QNjoklFmkIET3yG+OH7m2PEzAHzDZ5OJeCzibKVTRq1A1hMkVBYkVMI92bKfN8hQuSVqj46hJ/HM9ImbJr66BxB6yGgq/hyyqaK6/tuzNYkJq9cuvebqFfDI1dhahUMp9XRnVh3BWZvSJebrpQIbC6dARxbtnT1cwNDScLK2HgN/9f5EuuDJLHn+ehEvlkwHzxZsbi1GTO4fhzIrV+c3HUIriygjcawMHISaLHgwnTRAkJK5Bp43FVh/svTuc240r18s2/b2Qp//ffX501581hucsRXvOdafDpujfXUMZNcgnWknjueMDRgMoCuE4aV44en4w9e5xQexraNieT///t3aweHcrcPsx4/luQXv7F116bklUvQz1YxGQT3LRvZl9Mi2VkCUUrQjg6lb5pdv8/M7vrGCPrlhyJaUOxuW9GN/6TD99OfUyu7AeFk6t53Rwf213Rc9CVM4G8CyqICiw/H14mQefvtH7v2n3FCEA42TfXOSHyOc1H3xT78m9/dn19Z1riKUvjfimzJRNJhA1mCLmUczAaCClSpY7Y44ZAYmXUUwD8sVXqZtWnU9ICiWoSd/5n9/sVya1m3/kpveHb/5KOWP9QXDLAjuNoUsoNvAYhppSrcIJ8T29JLi11TR1IA2JHLB9Acr1udlp1vfojDh//m4ffCquFaG1/Nuf5QfjfU5JzSArqV1DTD0TolA2UlioiRS4nzStLnqvZ3Tvl3QewMCiZVt9jBfvrq1uxWbjWs8E0otzI5G++2wAOAkOLwYx+RjiPTLbaTLdGqTbEDgGlWvR+VRPYY0gIF8kmtJ5f2jleXt6yILodfOSMwYbt4NQ0E24OjYrH4mhk9ppLYgmhFnayvlduVgjKce4USnvMphMc2MsafVO6+Xtp5lpeYOHcyfW3UP543zBzbQxiGwBlgUBYUq4zYzCIiWi+ohoyVs0MdEY2uWsSWv3CM0xiXGKUFhdxJOGkbSuux6cGgeOvp7Bpysqmmi4AkiMpZHaGXRqlDV6E6czmdwJZz2GWXmdlQ/0muKiIPzps1HC9b/s9MuiYsHxbn7H0YBACdOVl2sRqNau6hkEbdLwRP092o9BnvIsbm3lt9IzG5NhKZHLf4+b0AKT5oJInwd/QLT0Q5nZaDyh7oGEuYKrfn7K0iakJlaHossjtrS2vTypD9nHCua44vhJnoDRt7IdWMTUwr7VS5G1KBwsuVXRaCVTW6mt6FoLeeaqhtx9e64WRMWiv2dKlgI5yyOmIWsaBVq2lQeijYmSBYMuRsQ30lyxORqDxPUttddaL6ExNZdoTYQeOguOUFq76ZDHRIXx5WwcCG0y9YV8olDk2prSrL54sbh4R1PQpMu2e88zgIkDnUeVVOPr0NRkGwFuRZXSRG1U8QtfC1brsBp+on8PhaljxgrBExJ+sZR5rc3O8GMIv8IfvPh4X+Emby0Yu4wVwAAAABJRU5ErkJggg==","aspectRatio":1,"src":"/static/e853af18753151b7154723bf9c9e0636/ee604/a93dec9cdca1e89b90d3959068bffb53.png","srcSet":"/static/e853af18753151b7154723bf9c9e0636/69585/a93dec9cdca1e89b90d3959068bffb53.png 200w,\n/static/e853af18753151b7154723bf9c9e0636/497c6/a93dec9cdca1e89b90d3959068bffb53.png 400w,\n/static/e853af18753151b7154723bf9c9e0636/ee604/a93dec9cdca1e89b90d3959068bffb53.png 800w,\n/static/e853af18753151b7154723bf9c9e0636/f3583/a93dec9cdca1e89b90d3959068bffb53.png 1200w,\n/static/e853af18753151b7154723bf9c9e0636/59098/a93dec9cdca1e89b90d3959068bffb53.png 1416w","srcWebp":"/static/e853af18753151b7154723bf9c9e0636/58556/a93dec9cdca1e89b90d3959068bffb53.webp","srcSetWebp":"/static/e853af18753151b7154723bf9c9e0636/61e93/a93dec9cdca1e89b90d3959068bffb53.webp 200w,\n/static/e853af18753151b7154723bf9c9e0636/1f5c5/a93dec9cdca1e89b90d3959068bffb53.webp 400w,\n/static/e853af18753151b7154723bf9c9e0636/58556/a93dec9cdca1e89b90d3959068bffb53.webp 800w,\n/static/e853af18753151b7154723bf9c9e0636/99238/a93dec9cdca1e89b90d3959068bffb53.webp 1200w,\n/static/e853af18753151b7154723bf9c9e0636/8905b/a93dec9cdca1e89b90d3959068bffb53.webp 1416w","sizes":"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px"}}}}},{"node":{"id":"Question_10740-markdown","title":"Is cannabis addictive?","slug":"is-cannabis-addictive","content":"***I want to try to start cannabis use, but I'm afraid. The question really lies in what addiction is. Many people will say addiction is a chemical dependence in which cannabis is not addictive. Other people and organizations will say it is rather a psychological manifestation, such as an addiction to gambling. It is important to note that if a person starts using before the age of 18 they are 4-7 times as likely to develop a dependence.\n\nCannabis use disorders are tested using a standardized list of 11 criteria. It is subjective to say who has a disorder or not. Some might say if you have 2 from the list, others say you must have all 11. The **11 indicators are**:\n\nThis list was taken from [Medscape's article](http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/286661-clinical) \n\n- 1.) Cannabis is often taken in larger amounts or over a longer period than was intended.\n- 2.) There is a persistent desire or unsuccessful efforts to cut down or control cannabis use.\n- 3.) A great deal of time is spent in activities necessary to obtain cannabis, use cannabis, or recover from its effects.\n- 4.) Craving, or a strong desire or urge to use cannabis.\n- 5.) Recurrent cannabis use results in a failure to fulfill major role obligations at work, school, or home.\n- 6.) Continued cannabis use despite having persistent or recurrent social or interpersonal problems caused or exacerbated by the effects of cannabis.\n- 7.) Important social, occupational, or recreational activities are given up or reduced because of cannabis use.\n- 8.) Recurrent cannabis use in situations in which it is physically hazardous.\n- 9.) CBD works as a CB1 antagonist, so it can stop CB1 receptors from activating and can work to speed up metabolism as a result.\n\nOne [Korean study](https://hellomd.ca/questions-and-answers/i-heard-that-cbd-could-speed-up-your-metabolism-is-this-true) showed that CBD does this by:\n\n- Boosting the body's ability to burn calories by increasing the activity of the mitochondria in cells\n- Limiting the availability of proteins needed to generate fat cells\n- Helping the browning of fat by stimulating genes and proteins to better break down and oxidize fat cells\n\nCBD may also act as an **appetite suppressant**, so it doesn’t bring on the munchies the way that THC sometimes does.\n\nYou can take CBD in a number of forms, such as **edibles**, **drinkables**, **tinctures**, **gel caps**, **vapeables** and **CBD-rich smokables**. For flower you might want to check [CBD Shark](https://www.hellomd.com/strains/cbd-shark), which boasts equal parts CBD and THC, to you can have a lighter \"high\" feeling while still taking advantage of the benefits that come with CBD, including potential weight loss.\n\nPeter G.\n_______________\n\n![Untitled10.png](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Untitled10_987a96a6a1.png)\n\nAnother rarer cannabinoid that's called \"the sports car of cannabinoids\" for its various desirable properties is **tetrahydrocannabivarin** (THCV) is getting a lot of attention. It’s [been found to help with](https://www.steephill.com/blogs/38) panic attacks, PTSD, tremors associated with diseases such as Parkinson’s, osteoporosis.\n\nMany in the cannabis business also hail THCV for its [ability to suppress appetite](https://www.hellomd.com/articles/marijuana-can-help-you-lose-weight-with-the-help-of-thcv-and-cbd). It seems to work by blocking the body's CB1 receptor, which helps to quell hunger.\n\nSince THCV is new to the market, there aren’t a lot of products available yet. But one that’s getting a lot of attention are [Wana Fit Gummies](https://www.wanabrands.com/products/gummies/optimals/optimals-fit-rec), part of Wana Optimals:a lineup wellness solutions powered by rare cannabinoids, [terpenes](https://www.hellomd.com/articles/what-are-cannabis-terpenes-and-how-do-they-work), and other plant-derived ingredients.\n\nThe well-known edibles manufacturr describes Wana Fit: \n\n“These first-of-their kind gummies harness the power of THCV, a rare cannabinoid that can boost focus, help disrupt unhelpful eating habits, and put you back in control of your diet. They won’t make you feel high, so you can take one tropical-punch-flavored gummy every day to experience the full long-term benefits of this remarkable plant-based tool.”\n\nThe gummies have a speedy five-to-15-minute onset, and a duration of two to four hours. Low in sugar and carbohydrates, each 4.5g gummy is only 15 calories. \n\nLaurel S.","image":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"base64":"data:image/png;base64,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","aspectRatio":1.0050251256281406,"src":"/static/ea46e518ada76c79d1f9f9058e1925c9/ee604/8c90066b90d80cf3ad8271ac8b695001.png","srcSet":"/static/ea46e518ada76c79d1f9f9058e1925c9/69585/8c90066b90d80cf3ad8271ac8b695001.png 200w,\n/static/ea46e518ada76c79d1f9f9058e1925c9/497c6/8c90066b90d80cf3ad8271ac8b695001.png 400w,\n/static/ea46e518ada76c79d1f9f9058e1925c9/ee604/8c90066b90d80cf3ad8271ac8b695001.png 800w,\n/static/ea46e518ada76c79d1f9f9058e1925c9/f3583/8c90066b90d80cf3ad8271ac8b695001.png 1200w,\n/static/ea46e518ada76c79d1f9f9058e1925c9/3c1de/8c90066b90d80cf3ad8271ac8b695001.png 1244w","srcWebp":"/static/ea46e518ada76c79d1f9f9058e1925c9/58556/8c90066b90d80cf3ad8271ac8b695001.webp","srcSetWebp":"/static/ea46e518ada76c79d1f9f9058e1925c9/61e93/8c90066b90d80cf3ad8271ac8b695001.webp 200w,\n/static/ea46e518ada76c79d1f9f9058e1925c9/1f5c5/8c90066b90d80cf3ad8271ac8b695001.webp 400w,\n/static/ea46e518ada76c79d1f9f9058e1925c9/58556/8c90066b90d80cf3ad8271ac8b695001.webp 800w,\n/static/ea46e518ada76c79d1f9f9058e1925c9/99238/8c90066b90d80cf3ad8271ac8b695001.webp 1200w,\n/static/ea46e518ada76c79d1f9f9058e1925c9/67b62/8c90066b90d80cf3ad8271ac8b695001.webp 1244w","sizes":"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px"}}}}},{"node":{"id":"Question_12622-markdown","title":"Does cannabis heighten or decrease your sex drive?","slug":"does-cannabis-heighten-or-decrease-your-sex-drive","content":"**\"I’ve started using marijuana in the bedroom with my partner but before we explore our options further I want to make sure cannabis won’t affect either of our sex drives”** \n \nPeter C.\n\n______________________ \nYou may have noticed that you’re more “in the mood” since you’ve started using cannabis, or maybe your partner says sex is more enjoyable after they’ve taken marijuana. For many, cannabis is the only thing that gets their sex drive to even show up in the first place. You do not imagine these benefits, and they’re real. There’s now a [growing body of research](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31447385/) exploring marijuana’s effect on sex, confirming what many already report anecdotally. \n \nIn October of 2017, [Stanford University conducted a study](https://med.stanford.edu/news/all-news/2017/10/regular-marijuana-use-linked-to-more-sex.html) published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine and billed as the first to “examine the relationship between marijuana use and frequency of sexual intercourse.” This study revealed that regular cannabis users have 20% more sex than non-cannabis users. \n \nThe responses of more than 28,000 females and 22,000 males between 24-25 were evaluated. Women who reported daily cannabis use had sex with male partners 7.1 times per month on average, compared to six times a month for non-cannabis users. Men who reported using cannabis daily also reported having sex with women 6.9 times on an average month, compared to 5.6 times for non-users. Researchers also found what they call a “**dose-dependent**” relationship in which the more cannabis that was consumed, the more sex was reported. \n \nWhy would cannabis users possibly have more sex than non-consumers? Does cannabis increase libido? Yes, the [endocannabinoid system](https://www.hellomd.com/articles/what-is-the-endocannabinoid-system) is involved in female sexual function and can heighten a female’s sexual arousal. \n \nMaybe it’s born out of stoner stereotypes, but it’s been a common misconception for decades that marijuana is detrimental to men’s sex drive. But many studies have shown that the more marijuana people consume, the more sex they have. This holds true for both men and women of all different races, religions, and ethnicities. This doesn’t necessarily mean that men have more sex because they use marijuana – it may be that people who use cannabis are more open to sexual encounters. Cannabis eases stress and anxiety, which are two things that can commonly surround sexual encounters. \n \nThere is still strong evidence that marijuana can both help and hurt men’s sexual \nperformance. These studies aren’t definitive; it’s likely that how marijuana affects performance has more to do with people individually. We know that the endocannabinoid system facilitates sexual systems in the body; we also know that ECS varies from person to person. \n \nWe know for sure that marijuana almost certainly lowers sperm count in men. However, how much and how significant this problem is, is hard to determine. It’s important to note that sperm counts have been falling in the western world for four straight decades. It may be suitable for men who use marijuana medically to consult with a urologist.\n\nIn terms of women, sexual dysfunction in females is a challenging issue that can cause severe difficulties in relationships. To make matters more complicated, it can be a touchy and embarrassing topic to talk about. Thankfully, research shows that cannabis can improve the sexual experience for women. [43% of women have some sort of sexual dysfunction]( https://www.webmd.com/women/guide/sexual-dysfunction-women#1) they’re dealing with. These problems may result from physiological issues like low blood pressure, chronic health conditions, or medications. Whatever the reason for the issue, sexual health and enjoyment are essential to overall health and well-being. We have good news! Cannabis may be able to get your sex life back on track. \n \nThere’s a long history of cannabis’s use **as an aphrodisiac** that goes back thousands of years. In recent times, researchers have begun to study this important use and are finding that, yes, **cannabis does improve sex**. In one survey, more than [two-thirds of respondents said that cannabis increased sexual pleasure and satisfaction](https://www.jstor.org/stable/3812350?seq=1#page_scan_tab_contents). 20% of those surveyed said they used cannabis for sex regularly, and another 20% said it depends on factors like does, strain, and mood. \n \nOne big reason that cannabis may help increase arousal in women is by increasing testosterone. High testosterone levels are linked to arousal, and low doses of cannabis compound tetrahydrocannabinol also known as [THC](https://www.hellomd.com/tag/thc/) have been shown to [dramatically spine testosterone](https://www.nytimes.com/1981/07/25/us/study-links-use-of-marijuana-to-a-fluctuation-in-sex-drive.html), getting the cannabis consumer in the mood for love. \n \nCannabis also eases anxiety which for many women is linked to sexual disorders. Whether it’s anxiety over sex or just having a hard time letting go of life’s responsibilities during the act, stress can kill your sex life, and cannabis can help. Marijuana can also reduce painful sex. Pain during sex is another big reason for sexual dysfunction in women. Marijuana is known for its excellent pain-relieving properties. Cannabis can also increase sensitivity and pleasure; consumers report that the plant increases sensitivity to pleasurable sensations during sex, including orgasms. \n \nAlyssa C. \n","image":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"base64":"data:image/png;base64,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","aspectRatio":1,"src":"/static/d4ae85bdc0403600e83e3c14e81b5196/ee604/e98a7b9d1b86be23283d9ac3e48eb4a0.png","srcSet":"/static/d4ae85bdc0403600e83e3c14e81b5196/69585/e98a7b9d1b86be23283d9ac3e48eb4a0.png 200w,\n/static/d4ae85bdc0403600e83e3c14e81b5196/497c6/e98a7b9d1b86be23283d9ac3e48eb4a0.png 400w,\n/static/d4ae85bdc0403600e83e3c14e81b5196/ee604/e98a7b9d1b86be23283d9ac3e48eb4a0.png 800w,\n/static/d4ae85bdc0403600e83e3c14e81b5196/f3583/e98a7b9d1b86be23283d9ac3e48eb4a0.png 1200w","srcWebp":"/static/d4ae85bdc0403600e83e3c14e81b5196/58556/e98a7b9d1b86be23283d9ac3e48eb4a0.webp","srcSetWebp":"/static/d4ae85bdc0403600e83e3c14e81b5196/61e93/e98a7b9d1b86be23283d9ac3e48eb4a0.webp 200w,\n/static/d4ae85bdc0403600e83e3c14e81b5196/1f5c5/e98a7b9d1b86be23283d9ac3e48eb4a0.webp 400w,\n/static/d4ae85bdc0403600e83e3c14e81b5196/58556/e98a7b9d1b86be23283d9ac3e48eb4a0.webp 800w,\n/static/d4ae85bdc0403600e83e3c14e81b5196/99238/e98a7b9d1b86be23283d9ac3e48eb4a0.webp 1200w","sizes":"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px"}}}}},{"node":{"id":"Question_12621-markdown","title":"How can I use cannabis during sex? Cannabis promotes relaxation and increased blood flow. [THC](https://www.hellomd.com/tag/thc/) is also known to positively affect cell receptors directly involved in tactile sensation and euphoria, allowing more pleasant signals to be received by the brain. Cannabis is and will always be enjoyed differently by individuals as everyone takes to marijuana differently, so it’s hard to say if it will help your sex life. \n \nSome evidence points to [cannabis allowing the body to have deeper and longer orgasms](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31447385/). Some men have even indicated that marijuana can and should be used as ‘nature’s Viagra. For thousands of years, cannabis has been appointed as an aphrodisiac, so it comes as no shock that there seems to be some resurgence around this now that cannabis is somewhat in the limelight. \n` \nPsychiatrist [Dr. Lester Grinspoon](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lester_Grinspoon) says that weed “greatly enhances the sexual experience for many people. There’s no doubt that when people are high, they’re more sensitive to their sexual feelings and urges”. While this all looks pretty positive, keep in mind that it’s all subjective to what you consume. For example, smoking a strain that will keep you couch-locked may not be the sexiest option. \n \n \n[Microdosing](https://www.hellomd.com/tag/microdosing/) has gained immense popularity among cannabis consumers. To microdose, you take a small amount of marijuana multiple times in a certain period to create a specific effect. Many cannabis users use this technique not to feel any psychoactive effects while reaping marijuana’s benefits. Or, for some, it helps them think slightly altered rather than experiencing an all-out high. \n \nIncorporating microdosing into your bedroom routine may deliver aphrodisiac effects of marijuana without making you too sedated, anxious, or out of control. Depending on your ingestion method, you could **smoke** or **vape** a small dose of cannabis right before hitting the bedroom. \n \nA few commonly used strains for sexual enhancement are Voodoo, Grandaddy Purple, and Flo. These are by no means the only strains, but they seem to be commonplace in strain lists that get you in ‘the mood.’ Another great option for women in the bedroom is [sexual lubricant enhancers](https://www.hellomd.com/articles/the-5-best-cannabis-products-for-better-sex-in-california). \n \nTwo great options for these are [‘Quiver’ by HerbaBuena]( https://herbabuena.com/) and [‘Foria Pleasure’]( https://www.foriawellness.com/products/intimacy-lubricant) by Foria. These are typically applied to the vaginal area about thirty minutes before sexual activity. These lubricants create a sensation that leads some users to say ‘Wow’! As a side note, topical applications do not create any sort of “head high,” which some people prefer in the bedroom. \n \nClaire V. Any cannabis products used for sexual encounters and cannabis usage, in general, are not always about “you.” When your partner feels good, having pleasurable sensations, getting satisfaction from what you are doing with them, it leads to enhancing your own sexual pleasure. And sometimes that’s enough! \n \nThere are two essential things to consider when before mixing [marijuana and sex](https://www.hellomd.com/articles/cannabis-and-sex-a-brief-world-history): **tolerance** and **preference**. Choosing the wrong product or consuming too much of a product you love before getting intimate could turn a romantic night into an un-sexy nightmare. There will likely be a period of trial and error to figure out precisely what strains and products increase your sex drive and sexual sensitivity without making you anxious or tired. \n \nIf you’re looking for products for sexual enhancement, there are various great options. [Foria](https://www.foriawellness.com/collections/sexual-wellness) has two products that have received some great reviews. [Foria Pleasure](https://www.foriawellness.com/collections/sexual-wellness) is a topical spray applied around and slightly inside the vagina. Foria Pleasure has been reported to have no “high” related to the application of the spray. However, if oral sex occurs after application, the partner performing that act can experience a “high.” Women have reported feeling more relaxed, and some have even said they felt a “warm sensation” in their vaginas. \n \nForia also has [Foria Explore](https://www.hellomd.com/articles/foria-explore-for-anal-sex), a suppository for rectal administration. It has been reported to make anal sex more comfortable and pleasurable, leading to a more enjoyable night. \n \nThere are many fantastic strains that can increase your sex drive. For example, [Green Crack](https://www.hellomd.com/strains/green-crack), while it may have one of the most unfortunate marijuana strain names, it’s a fan favorite for multiple reasons. Green Crack is a [Sativa-dominant strain](https://www.hellomd.com/articles/cannabis-101-indica-sativa-and-hybrid-explained) that offers a sweet aroma and a smooth hit. Its cerebral, energetic, and euphoric high makes it a great choice to set the mood before having sex. It’s a good option for moderate-to-heavy cannabis users looking to spice up their sex life. As this strain tends to be high-energy, give it a try for an upbeat bedroom performance or any daytime rendezvous. \n \nAnother excellent strain for bedroom use is [Northern Lights](https://www.hellomd.com/strains/northern-lights). There’s nothing worse than the anxiety that can come before having sex with a new partner or trying something outside your comfort zone in the bedroom. If you’re looking for something to ease these anxiety-evoking activities, Northern Lights is your strain. It is a [pure Indica strain](https://www.hellomd.com/articles/cannabis-101-indica-sativa-and-hybrid-explained) known for its ability to relieve symptoms of anxiety, stress, and pain. A couple of hits of Northern Lights, and your stress and anxiety will melt away and be replaced with a euphoric high and a totally relaxed body. Be wary; too much of this strain can cause sleepiness, so it’s best to start with a small amount and work your way up to reduce the likeliness of falling asleep before the deed is done. \n \nBrandon S.","image":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"base64":"data:image/png;base64,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","aspectRatio":1,"src":"/static/7435c0687dd8e4103826581dc581a1c5/ee604/de75b8a9baf17706dff2d52618885b3c.png","srcSet":"/static/7435c0687dd8e4103826581dc581a1c5/69585/de75b8a9baf17706dff2d52618885b3c.png 200w,\n/static/7435c0687dd8e4103826581dc581a1c5/497c6/de75b8a9baf17706dff2d52618885b3c.png 400w,\n/static/7435c0687dd8e4103826581dc581a1c5/ee604/de75b8a9baf17706dff2d52618885b3c.png 800w,\n/static/7435c0687dd8e4103826581dc581a1c5/f3583/de75b8a9baf17706dff2d52618885b3c.png 1200w","srcWebp":"/static/7435c0687dd8e4103826581dc581a1c5/58556/de75b8a9baf17706dff2d52618885b3c.webp","srcSetWebp":"/static/7435c0687dd8e4103826581dc581a1c5/61e93/de75b8a9baf17706dff2d52618885b3c.webp 200w,\n/static/7435c0687dd8e4103826581dc581a1c5/1f5c5/de75b8a9baf17706dff2d52618885b3c.webp 400w,\n/static/7435c0687dd8e4103826581dc581a1c5/58556/de75b8a9baf17706dff2d52618885b3c.webp 800w,\n/static/7435c0687dd8e4103826581dc581a1c5/99238/de75b8a9baf17706dff2d52618885b3c.webp 1200w","sizes":"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px"}}}}},{"node":{"id":"Question_12627-markdown","title":"Can medical marijuana help me relax before sex?","slug":"can-medical-marijuana-help-me-relax-before-sex","content":"**“I’ve got to admit that I sometimes get a bit nervous before having sex. A 2012 study showed that “the [endocannabinoid system](https://www.hellomd.com/articles/what-is-the-endocannabinoid-system) is involved in female sexual function” and can heighten female’s sexual arousal. \n\nAnd it’s not just smoking cannabis that can help you in the bedroom. The key seems to be to take weed in moderation and to know what your limits are.\n\nThe idea is to take enough to make you relax, but not relax so much that you follow to sleep under your lover’s frustrated gaze.\n\nOne strain that really promotes relaxation is [Sour Diesel](https://www.hellomd.com/strains/sour-diesel). Named for its diesel-like aroma, and known for its energetic and joyful high, this popular Sativa strain is easy to find. It helps me with mood issues like depression and anxiety, and keeps me on an even keel. I’m wondering about the connections with dopamine levels. Does smoking depress or increase how much dopamine you have in your system?”**\n\nJonathan K.\n\n________________\n\n![Untitled56.png](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Untitled56_4b39b6d8b2.png)\n\nA good question, with a complicated answer. [Some studies show](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5123717/#:~:text=Acute%20THC%20causes%20increased%20dopamine,blunting%20of%20the%20dopamine%20system) that “**acute THC causes increased dopamine** release and neuron activity, whilst **long-term use is associated with blunting of the dopamine system**.”\n\nAs you probably know, [dopamine is a neurotransmitter](https://www.health.harvard.edu/mind-and-mood/dopamine-the-pathway-to-pleasure). It’s a hormone that continuously circulates from neuron to neuron in different amounts, controlling a wide range of brain and bodily activities, including pleasure, movement, memory, attention, sleep, mood, and learning.\n\nThink of it as a feelgood or reward hormone that we rely on each day for happiness, wellbeing, and motivation. If your dopamine levels are too low, you might get affected by depression, other mood disorders, and have problems with memory, concentration, and movement.\n\nWhen levels are too high, dopamine can lead to compulsive or impulsive behavior, including aggression, addiction, and ADHD.\n\n[THC (tetrahydrocannabinol)](https://www.hellomd.com/tag/thc), the main psychoactive component in cannabis, has been shown in studies to [induce “dopamine release](https://www.hellomd.com/articles/top-marijuana-strains-to-boost-your-motivation) in the human striatum,” a part of the brain associated with our reward and motivation response.\n\nIt may encourage this release in a roundabout way. The [endocannabinoid system (ECS)](https://www.hellomd.com/articles/what-is-the-endocannabinoid-system) has a close connection to the body’s dopamine signaling system. Marijuana fires CB1 receptors on GABA (a neurotransmitter acid that connects the brain and the nervous system) neurons. These GABA neurons usually work to suppress the effectiveness of dopamine. \n\nSo, cannabis temporarily suppresses GABA, and its dopamine-inhibiting influence, so dopamine production actually increases under the influence of THC. This might in turn boost your mood, increase your motivation, and bring other positive benefits.\n\nHigh dopamine levels massage the brain’s reward system, causing feelings of pleasure, achievement, and satisfaction, and achievement. It may also slow down the perception of time as the mind speeds up, perhaps increasing sex drive, energy, and focus.\n\nCannabinoids can also act as neuroprotective agents, helping to protect brain cells. And this has [implications for people with Parkinson’s disease](https://hellomd.ca/articles/how-marijuana-can-help-with-parkinson's-disease), a debilitating degenerative disorder. If dopamine-producing cells don’t die, dopamine levels can stay where they need to and cell death won’t cause protein buildup and increased inflammation.\n\nIn short, [Parkinson’s disease](https://www.nia.nih.gov/health/parkinsons-disease#:~:text=Parkinson's%20disease%20is%20a%20brain,have%20difficulty%20walking%20and%20talking.) seems to happen when dopamine levels in the midbrain region begin to fall, affecting the person’s ability to move and speak. Cannabis’s positive effect on dopamine levels working through the ECS and as a neuroprotector has shown that both THC and CBD may have a role in the treatment of the disease.\n\nThat said, if dopamine levels stay too high, too long in your body, this may serve to [shut off some of the dopamine receptors](https://www.arkbh.com/illicit-drugs/marijuana/dopamine-levels/), taking away the pleasure you would normally feel with things in your life, such as eating food, enjoying the company of others, doing hobbies and activities, and so on.\n\nHeavy marijuana use can sometimes have this effect, suppressing flow of dopamine and lowering your mood, motivation, and movement. It can also make you feel tired and throw a wrench into the workings of memory.\n\nLong-term effects of heavy cannabis use included an increased risk of dopamine-related physical and mental health issues, such as schizophrenia, psychosis, anxiety, depression, and Parkinson’s disease.\n\nSo, as with many things in life, the successful use of cannabis to positively affect dopamine levels is in moderation. A healthy balance can give you the feelgood rewards that you are seeking.\n\nCarolyn M.","image":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"base64":"data:image/png;base64,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","aspectRatio":1.2987012987012987,"src":"/static/8e1eaa16d5505db1e8b571626220ec4f/ee604/4028438409d6cb44bb12ec9b6a62f35a.png","srcSet":"/static/8e1eaa16d5505db1e8b571626220ec4f/69585/4028438409d6cb44bb12ec9b6a62f35a.png 200w,\n/static/8e1eaa16d5505db1e8b571626220ec4f/497c6/4028438409d6cb44bb12ec9b6a62f35a.png 400w,\n/static/8e1eaa16d5505db1e8b571626220ec4f/ee604/4028438409d6cb44bb12ec9b6a62f35a.png 800w,\n/static/8e1eaa16d5505db1e8b571626220ec4f/f3583/4028438409d6cb44bb12ec9b6a62f35a.png 1200w","srcWebp":"/static/8e1eaa16d5505db1e8b571626220ec4f/58556/4028438409d6cb44bb12ec9b6a62f35a.webp","srcSetWebp":"/static/8e1eaa16d5505db1e8b571626220ec4f/61e93/4028438409d6cb44bb12ec9b6a62f35a.webp 200w,\n/static/8e1eaa16d5505db1e8b571626220ec4f/1f5c5/4028438409d6cb44bb12ec9b6a62f35a.webp 400w,\n/static/8e1eaa16d5505db1e8b571626220ec4f/58556/4028438409d6cb44bb12ec9b6a62f35a.webp 800w,\n/static/8e1eaa16d5505db1e8b571626220ec4f/99238/4028438409d6cb44bb12ec9b6a62f35a.webp 1200w","sizes":"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px"}}}}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7221-markdown","title":"Does cannabis show up in a standard blood test?","slug":"does-cannabis-show-up-in-a-standard-blood-test","content":"**\"I'm going in for a job interview where there may be drug testing. These are some of them:\n\n- the amount of body fat you have\n- how frequently do you ingest marijuana\n- the sensitivity of a drug test depends on how much you may smoke/ingest\n\nAlcohol and other drugs can vanish from the body in as little as a few hours. Weed, on the other hand, lasts far longer.\n\nTetrahydrocannabinol, or [THC](https://www.hellomd.com/tag/thc), can be detected in **urine**, **blood**, and **hair** for several days after usage, although saliva tests can only identify THC for a few hours. This is due to the way THC is metabolized in the body.\n\nThe short answer - in a standard blood test marijuana may show for 1 to 2 days on average. If you are a heavy consumer it may be detectable for as long as 25 days. It is highly variable.\n\nTHC is a lipid-soluble molecule that has been verified in your system. This implies it binds to fat in the body, increasing lean mass. No one ever mentioned THC or cannabis and I am quite certain that there was a good amount of THC in my blood during the blood draw. I would imagine, that if they are not looking for it, they will not pull it up in a standard test. If however, someone is doing a test specifically for that, to be on the safe side, I would not consume for a month before the test. Hope this helps!\n\nRyan M.\n_____________________\n\nNo, the only way THC will show up in a blood test is if the doctor is testing for it specifically. However, please keep in mind your \"standard blood test\" will often not test for THC. It is usually a Complete Blood Count (CBC) panel that will provide diagnostic information on your liver, kidney, and blood cell status. The primary function of this test is to detect diseases. \n\nTypically, cannabis will stay in your system for about 1-2 days after consumption. However, if you are a heavier user, it can stay for up to 7 days or even longer. With that said, variables that can affect how long THC is present in the blood include metabolism, body mass index, and frequency and amount of cannabis consumed. If you are going to have a THC blood test soon, I suggest abstaining from cannabis consumption for three weeks to be safe! \n\nVeronica B.\n_____________________\n\n![Hello1-min (1).png](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Hello1_min_1_242fa4bae4.png)\n\nLike others have mentioned here, THC from cannabis won’t show up in a “standard” blood test, so your employer, doctor, or whoever is requesting the THC blood test would have to be looking for it specifically. Unlike urine tests, blood tests detect the active presence of THC in the bloodstream.\n\nIn the case of smoked marijuana, THC peaks rapidly in the first few minutes after inhaling, often to levels above 100 ng/ml in blood plasma. It then declines quickly to single-digit levels within an hour. \n\nHigh THC levels are therefore a good indication that the subject has smoked marijuana recently. THC can remain at low but detectable levels of 1-2 ng/ml for 8 hours or more without any measurable signs of impairment in one-time users. In chronic users, detectable amounts of blood THC can persist for days.\n\nCheck out this article for more information re: [THC blood tests](http://www.canorml.org/healthfacts/drugtestguide/drugtestdetection.html#blood).\n\nMelissa P.","image":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"base64":"data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAABQAAAAUCAIAAAAC64paAAAACXBIWXMAAA7DAAAOwwHHb6hkAAAEz0lEQVQ4ywHEBDv7AAlxjgh0lAh0kwl1lwl5nQZ0mAx0mSyVvEWcxRd8o4zP7anW55OeoKGoqKOqq6qzs7a+vsbNzb7FxZKWmAALco8IdZQIdJUJd5oHeJwMbZIieqMLZYtLncYFX4ljtdSQ0u+xydDEysqyuru6xMSzu7vU19fz9vXn6egADHGQCneXCXWWCnufBFyABVZ7V6nQCleFMpW/HHOcOZe5bsDlkszj7e3ryc/Pt76+v8jHrbKx1dfW///+AA5xkAt2lgl3mAdylQpUegRPdGu93zqEsQhzoi+IsDCBpnrB3RmIta/X5/Du67e+v8HJyb3ExKywr9/h3wAQc5INdpcKd5kHcZQLZ5EBUXlCmLtTp9AAap5Qp8w8halvvuJ6xeZzv9zk8vfR09K4wMDH0NC5v762uLgAFXeWDnaXCnaXCXmcC3idCneeDHymGo+9AW+dIICoRp/HFHuvbbDUTqvTyOXy5+bjqLCyvsfHvsXFur27ABN2lA93lwt3mAt5nQx8nwuApQ2HsgeArAd3ogt1oAyFrjZ3kpSquIa+1Pj59+Dl43t8fp6jpMHJyb7CwQASdJQQeJgMeJkKeZwNfKALfJ8Ng6cPh68NhK4Nf6kKi7pDfpTEvrv+//z8+/jy9vSFhIV4e329x8a8wsAAFXeVDneXDHeYCXqcDXygC3ufBnabE4CoEoi0BX2uAo/KMG6MubKv/v/++vj1/Pz60dTTR3yQlKmuur28ABx9mxN8nRJ7nBB6mhN/oQyBpzJ4kVx2gjuJqTaGrF6ZtnB/irq7u/X4+Ovx8v///LfIzQBljm+aqs7NywBNgqATW684c5qZikmRi3AcfqhPn8R+coiYiJlMYJFPesF0haC+vsBlmbg/nMrJ2NmpiEZyhXCEV1qZUVAAPl+IACeYMEdjwYgZonAwAG+dCXqyZ1l9fGqIGTB8EWbTYk57dTxAPIKqCITBiaWguHgIn4JBlS0gkhwUAElmhB5Pmjlhd6OFRIF3Wjl9nk6LqYSBlJWMnFJmk1CIyZaPm6+Vkpm4yVybuGKOlLmWV3GAapd1e7B4dwBrcHBkZ28xY3VvcoFPg5pldYONiIyMiIubnaWgpKagn6W4w8Ha1Mq+sbCQjZAsdpKJj5w1eJdhhJOUmZwAaWRiOTxEAjRHbGlxQYCXVWVxeHN6emlsl5iflpmcjY6YtLq6eZ+qUH2OcFVcBkdmamZsNWuFO0pWf3d4AGZaYTE4PSpFUmpkbWKJmlpgbXp6g1ZDSJiWnZKAhJCLlba8vW2jtGONnXBNVExneWdncFZ4i0VHUXJscACAhIlucXV4fH+Fh4qLlpt8gIaGjJF8fICanqGXk5WTmZ6crrKss7SmqqyJgoaioaGJjZCTmZx9e36EhYcAUmNuQEZPMmFkhYJzQ3+VcXmAPml5OEpVhoSGgXV5dYCIL4CbD3udSoOWaGJoKWdygYZ6PHWMXmdue3p8AF5jXysnL1tfT4B2XW2Cj11galxjazs0OoN/goJycIF+g4qan4Ojq4SSmVlDTGRoYnZ6bl9uek1FSm9rbgB5enh4dGeEgXSJh4CChoxyeoGFh4lyaWyHhomOjoiPkpKWmpqcnp2TkJJ6Z22Oh4KFi4mLjZCBgYOHiIpKJmlE0b0uCwAAAABJRU5ErkJggg==","aspectRatio":1,"src":"/static/313fd9d2441b41b5f6a47f1aec93c721/97f33/551ad7cc624387db30808d61a806fac5.png","srcSet":"/static/313fd9d2441b41b5f6a47f1aec93c721/69585/551ad7cc624387db30808d61a806fac5.png 200w,\n/static/313fd9d2441b41b5f6a47f1aec93c721/497c6/551ad7cc624387db30808d61a806fac5.png 400w,\n/static/313fd9d2441b41b5f6a47f1aec93c721/97f33/551ad7cc624387db30808d61a806fac5.png 483w","srcWebp":"/static/313fd9d2441b41b5f6a47f1aec93c721/e4e06/551ad7cc624387db30808d61a806fac5.webp","srcSetWebp":"/static/313fd9d2441b41b5f6a47f1aec93c721/61e93/551ad7cc624387db30808d61a806fac5.webp 200w,\n/static/313fd9d2441b41b5f6a47f1aec93c721/1f5c5/551ad7cc624387db30808d61a806fac5.webp 400w,\n/static/313fd9d2441b41b5f6a47f1aec93c721/e4e06/551ad7cc624387db30808d61a806fac5.webp 483w","sizes":"(max-width: 483px) 100vw, 483px"}}}}},{"node":{"id":"Question_12575-markdown","title":"Is cannabis gifting over the holidays appropriate?","slug":"is-cannabis-gifting-over-the-holidays-appropriate","content":"**“What etiquette should I be aware of when giving the gift of marijuana?”**\n\nMs Farichilds\n\n--------------------------------------\n\nYou are on firmer ground giving marijuana as a present today than a few years ago. Not only is weed legal in more places, but it is also increasingly accepted as an appropriate gift. In fact, a recent consumer poll conducted by the [Glass House Group](https://ghgproduct.typeform.com/report/ZshomybG/LlZ2vC4jByrbkBmb) reveals that more people are planning to give cannabis this holiday season than ever before \n\nOf the more than 630 people who took part in the survey, many said they prefer either flower, edibles, or pre-rolls when giving or receiving gifts. More than 52% said they planned to give cannabis or cannabis-related products as a gift. The most popular gifts will be flower (65.8%), edibles (61.3%), pre-rolls (54.7%), and CBD products (32.4%).\n\n![Screen Shot 2021-12-06 at 2.04.35 PM.png](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Screen_Shot_2021_12_06_at_2_04_35_PM_06c4902700.png)\n\n“As we close out another groundbreaking year for cannabis, this new poll reveals gifting cannabis products is one of the hottest consumer trends this holiday season,” said [Glass House Group co-founder, chairman and CEO Kyle Kazan](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/new-poll-reveals-cannabis-gifting-is-this-holiday-seasons-hottest-consumer-trend-301195002.html). “We're witnessing a paradigm shift and the poll shows that cannabis is becoming a mainstream choice for consumers. With health and wellness top of mind during the ongoing pandemic, it's also not shocking that more consumers plan to replace alcohol consumption with cannabis this year.”\n\nAbout 64.2% plan to replace alcohol with cannabis this season instead of alcohol, and just generally will use it more often than alcohol than they did in the past, because they feel it would be healthier for them. \n\nFaith Coco\n------------------\nI think that the etiquette of cannabis gift-giving needs to revolve around the preferences and existing practices of your intended recipients. The first etiquette rule is when gifting cannabis, don’t expect the person to consume it right away and share it with you. They may open the present, say thank you, and then stow it away for another day. If you want to have some weed during your present opening, bring your own supply, and if you’re really in the holiday mood, you can share with other people.\n\nIf you’re giving to someone who is a newcomer to cannabis, you might want to start them with a low-dosage THC product, so they don't get overwhelmingly high. And if they are health-oriented (they don’t smoke) then starting with [an edible](https://hellomd.com/questions-and-answers/what-is-a-good-edible-to-buy-for-the-holidays) is a good idea. \n\n![Spicy Dark Chocolate by Garden Society](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Screen_Shot_2021_12_06_at_2_00_19_PM_7cd50d3964.png)\n\nTake, for example, a really great edible such as the [Spiced Dark Chocolate by Garden Society](https://thegardensociety.com/product/spiced-dark-chocolate-with-chili/). If you love dark chocolate, this is a clear winner for cannabis-infused edibles. At 10mg a piece of chocolate, it has a hint of warmth from Ceylon cinnamon. Sweet meets spice—with just the right amount of heat. \n\nAs part of your holiday etiquette, suggest to the new user to try a half or third of a piece of chocolate first to test their tolerance, and then go from there.\n\nBobbi Krammer\n\n--------------------------\n\n![Screen Shot 2021-12-06 at 2.08.21 PM.png](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Screen_Shot_2021_12_06_at_2_08_21_PM_e1dd4d1c28.png)\n\nYes, it’s really important to know the habits of the people you’ll be gifting. If they take a tincture or like topicals, then a fancy vaporizer wouldn’t hit the mark as a present. If the [gift recipient is a woman](https://hellomd.com/questions-and-answers/what-is-a-good-edible-to-buy-for-the-holidays), then [Elevated Herbal Bath Bombs](https://www.facebook.com/elevatedherbals) may be a good choice for someone who likes topicals.\n\nAll of the organic bath bombs are made by a woman-founded collective and include ingredients such as comfrey, calendula, St. John's wort, arnica, turmeric and lavender, and cannabis. These bath bombs provide deep relaxation without any psychoactivity since the THC in them doesn’t enter the bloodstream through the skin. \nThe receiver will enjoy the soothing effects of cannabis without getting high. And you have a selection of great different scents to choose from, that include: Creator (jasmine, ylang ylang and amber), Dreamer (rose, sandalwood and vanilla), and Explorer (rosemary, peppermint, sage, clove, and cinnamon).\n\nYou can also give the gift of a cannabis book, like the cannabis classic, [Bong Apetit](https://www.amazon.com/Bong-App%C3%A9tit-Mastering-Cooking-Weed-ebook/dp/B078VVV25V) by the editors of Munchies. If you're interested in making sophisticated cannabis food at home, this is a great place to start.\n\nMarcia E.\n","image":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"base64":"data:image/png;base64,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","aspectRatio":1.3605442176870748,"src":"/static/3d1cbbe3e6ed58f5a1218752bd6bbe03/706a3/de32248f0689bdf15e174a475061924f.png","srcSet":"/static/3d1cbbe3e6ed58f5a1218752bd6bbe03/69585/de32248f0689bdf15e174a475061924f.png 200w,\n/static/3d1cbbe3e6ed58f5a1218752bd6bbe03/497c6/de32248f0689bdf15e174a475061924f.png 400w,\n/static/3d1cbbe3e6ed58f5a1218752bd6bbe03/706a3/de32248f0689bdf15e174a475061924f.png 716w","srcWebp":"/static/3d1cbbe3e6ed58f5a1218752bd6bbe03/8f2a7/de32248f0689bdf15e174a475061924f.webp","srcSetWebp":"/static/3d1cbbe3e6ed58f5a1218752bd6bbe03/61e93/de32248f0689bdf15e174a475061924f.webp 200w,\n/static/3d1cbbe3e6ed58f5a1218752bd6bbe03/1f5c5/de32248f0689bdf15e174a475061924f.webp 400w,\n/static/3d1cbbe3e6ed58f5a1218752bd6bbe03/8f2a7/de32248f0689bdf15e174a475061924f.webp 716w","sizes":"(max-width: 716px) 100vw, 716px"}}}}},{"node":{"id":"Question_12374-markdown","title":"Some young people are vulnerable to psychotic episodes and/or disorders after using cannabis. what do we know about who is vulnerable?
