Indicas are typically highTHC so I am doubtful that you will find a high CBD indica variety. Charlotte's Web, Haleigh's Hope, and Palmetto Harmony are a few of the safe and reputable varieties that can be found in dispensaries and/or online. They are usually anywhere from 24-28:1 CBD:THC, and are tested for heavy metals, solvents, pesticides, mold, and bacteria, which is very important. They have varying terpene and cannabinoid profiles so one might be more effective than another for any particular patient. All of these varieties are used extensively for treating seizures, anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, and psychosis. Besides being an anti-convulsant, anti-spasmodic, mood stabilizer, and anti-psychotic, CBD is a potent anti-inflammatory, relieves neuropathic and inflammatory pain, is neuro- and gastro-protective,  lowers gastric acidity, suppresses appetite, and potentiates the pain relieving effects of THC.\n\ndrfrye","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_11111-markdown","title":"What is the significance of 'full spectrum' cannabinoids in Xternal?","slug":"what-is-the-significance-of-full-spectrum-cannabinoids-in-xternal","content":"\"How do your products compare to the high CBD approach you see elsewhere?\"\n_____________________\nHello, and thanks for this great question. The official answer, from our medical expert, is that different Cannabinoids have different mechanisms of action and that using a full spectrum rather than a single molecule capitalizes on this synergy to maximize the benefits.\n\nThe unofficial answer, from yours truly, is that the full spectrum gives us the proverbial \"entourage effect.\" When you think of an entourage, you likely think \"rock star.\" Continuing that analogy, let's say that THC and CBD are the rock stars of Cannabinoids. Let's say they are the Mick and Keith of Cannabinoids. But Mick and Keith can't put on a Rolling Stones concert all by themselves. They need the rest of the band, the instruments, stage managers, sound engineers, lighting crew, roadies, and so on. They all have a job to do, although some of them are there to help the others do their jobs. It's the same with Cannabinoids. They all have a specific function within the body, some have a job of their own, and some support or enhance the performance of the others. When all the players are doing their jobs you either get a great concert or you achieve homeostasis, depending on whether you're talking music or medicine...\n\nAs we continue to study this amazing plant, we will be learning more about the various functions each Cannabinoid performs within our bodies. In the meantime, here's to achieving homeostasis together!\n\nCome check out all 9 ways to heal topically: Balm, Cream, Mud, Soak, Roll-On, Body Wash, Spray, Massage Oil and Lip Balm at www.xternalrub.com. In general an indica will make you more relaxed, be sedating and have a full body effect. Sativa on the other hand will generally create a more uplifting, energetic, creative effect, like it may make you want to get up and clean your house.\n\nThat said, most tinctures you will find will not list whether they are sativa or indica based. Rather they will tell you the ratio of CBD to THC. For instance, I often take a 20:1 ratio tincture which is 20 parts CBD to 1 part THC. To complicate matters you will find that cannabis sativa tends to have more CBD toTHC in the plant, so there may be a tendency to use cannabis sativa although I can not verify this as the way people make their products is highly variable.\n\nLastly, if you are taking a CBD tincture it is important to know if it is being made from hemp or as many people say 'whole flower'. Hemp is bred for the highest level of CBD to lowest levels of THC (almost imperceptible). My personal preference is always to go for whole flower over hemp based CBD tinctures as I believe in the entourage effect.\n\npamelahadfield","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_11100-markdown","title":"Can you tell us the history of how you came to make this product?","slug":"can-you-tell-us-the-history-of-how-you-came-to-make-this-product","content":"\"Also, where you became so knowledgable about THC and CBD. After many iterations, we arrived at what is now Sweet ReLeaf.\n\nAs for your other question- we have been studying cannabis science and working with the plant and patients for many years now. There is a wealth of information out there, which can be hard to synthesize for patients who want answers. That's why we are so passionate about passing on the knowledge. I found a suppository on the Foria site, but it's purpose is different, could I use this for colitis?\"\n_____________________\nCannabis has been shown to be very helpful with inflammatory bowel disease, such as ulcerative colitis. CBD has potent anti-inflammatory effects and I have spoken with many patients who attest to the benefits of cannabis in helping with pain, cramping, nausea, appetite and mood elevation. Cannabis also helps to lessen the side effects of other medications. The foria suppository has many applications, and I think it would be very helpful for inflammatory bowel disease as well as painful conditions of the digestive system and pelvic region in general. I don't know of other products that would be comparable to the foria suppositories, but it would seem that one could easily make an cannabis oil infusion and use it in a similar fashion.\n\nandrewvanmd","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_11077-markdown","title":"How many drops of CBD oil is needed to ease pain?","slug":"how-many-drops-of-cbd-oil-is-needed-to-ease-pain","content":"\n_____________________\nCannabis medicine is very individual. A good starting point is a website called ProjectCBD.org, there you can find a general dosing guide. For CBD and also for THC here are some points that ProjectCBD recommends...\n1. Begin with a low dose especially if you have little or no experience with cannabis.\n2. Take a few small doses over the course of the day rather than one big dose.\n3. Use the same dose and ratio for several days. Observe the effects and if necessary adjust the ratio or amount.\n So start low and slow and increase as needed to get the desired result. If you slowly build up to 10 drops, for instance, and you pain has decreased or has disappeared, then that would be your optimal dose...stick with that.\nIt also depends on the strength of your CBD medicine. If you have a highly concentrated CBD tonic/tincture, then you would not need as many drops as a tonic that had much less CBD..its important to know how many milligrams of CBD is in the bottle.\n\nPiantaTinta","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_11075-markdown","title":"My mother is 97 and weighs less than 90 pounds. Over 60 cannabinoids and numerous other compunds can be found in different ratios, depending on genetics, growing conditions and other factors. Our understanding of cannabis is growing each day, but is far from complete. The effects of cannabis are far more complicated than just THC and CBD. In fact each cannabinoid and compound will contribute to a synergistic \"entourage\" effect that is more than the sum of the parts. The other less well known cannabinoids will soon be given more attention. I would pay most attention to the smells and feelings that each different strain provides, rather than relying on a machine to determine cannabinoid ratios.\n\nandrewvanmd","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_11057-markdown","title":"What CBD oil will work for migraines?","slug":"what-cbd-oil-will-work-for-migraines","content":"\n_____________________\nCBD has been found to be highly effective in managing migraines, pain and inflammation, and is neuroprotective. It has been used, with anecdotal success, as a preventive medicine for seizure disorders.  When considering CBD oil, be sure to look for oils extracted with CO2. In the past, butane has been used; and some manufacturers continue to use this potentially toxic substance. \n\nCBD oils contain CBD extracted from either cannabis or hemp, which share the same genetics. It follows that all CBD oils should have the same medicinal properties. However, the concentration of CBD in any particular product may vary. In most patients, one to two drops/sprays applied under the tongue for ten seconds helps reverse or blunt the migraine when treated as early as possible. \n\nAs long as the CBD/THC ratio is greater than or equal to 1/1, you should not experience any psychoactive effects from THC. I usually recommend starting with a 4/1 ratio of CBD/THC and either increase or decrease the ratio depending on effectiveness and any adverse effects. CBD may cause some sedation/sleepiness. \n\nRemember that it may take at least 30 minutes to begin to feel the effects; so it is better to wait a couple hours before increasing your dose. Every patient has a different metabolism and tolerance, so it may take some time to find the best dose for you. \n\nSome patients that have really frequent migraines have found that a low dose CBD-containing edible taken after breakfast reduces their migraine frequency.\n\ndredmunds","image":null}}]}},"pageContext":{"limit":12,"skip":708,"numPages":66,"currentPage":60,"id":5084,"name":"CBD","slug":"cbd","country":"US"}},"staticQueryHashes":["3949754563","4179947113","4202924991"]}
