Can I buy different strains of cannabis flower in Ohio?**\n \nJason M.\n \n—————————\n \nYes, you can buy medical cannabis flower in Ohio, and there are a ton of great strains available at [dispensaries around the state](https://medicalmarijuana.ohio.gov/Documents/Dispensaries/List%20of%20Ohio%20Medical%20Marijuana%20Dispensaries%20with%20Certificates%20of%20Operation.pdf). The number of marijuana strains to choose from can be pretty overwhelming but there are a few ways to narrow down your choices.\n \nMedical marijuana strains are divided into [Indica, Sativa, and Hybrid categories](https://hellomd.com/articles/indica-or-sativa-making-the-right-choice). Generally, Sativas are good for daytime, Indicas are good for nighttime, and Hybrids are good anytime. [Not all strains fit neatly into those categories](https://hellomd.com/articles/indica-and-sativa-do-these-cannabis-labels-mean-anything) though, and the best way to find your favorite strains is through trying them. \n\n![Buckeye Relief Grapefruit Sour Dream](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Screen_Shot_2022_03_03_at_3_07_31_PM_c1ee25a11b.png)\n\n \nIt's always a good idea to talk to your doctor or pharmacist about your condition, and they can make recommendations on what types of strains might help you. [If you meet the qualifying conditions for a medical marijuana card](https://med.ohio.gov/Medical-Marijuana-Resources) but don't have one yet, it's easy to register in Ohio. [You can register online with HelloMD](https://www.hellomd.com/get-started/ohio/) and have your whole appointment virtually for $179. Their doctors are knowledgeable, and the whole process is simple and straightforward. You can also [check Ohio's list of accredited doctors](https://med.ohio.gov/Publications/CTR-Search) and make an in-person appointment if you prefer.\n \nWe have a lot of dispensaries in Ohio. I'm in Newark and I really like [Curaleaf](https://curaleaf.com/) and [Sunnyside](https://www.sunnyside.shop/products/flower) dispensaries. So far they both had everything I needed - flower, vapes, and tinctures. The staff was super friendly and their product recommendations helped my chronic pain and insomnia.\n \nMeredith R.\n \n—————————\n \nYes, dispensaries in Ohio sell cannabis as [flower, oils, tinctures, edibles, lotions, creams, and patches](https://hellomd.com/articles/7-different-ways-to-consume-weed). We can't smoke in Ohio, but I've come to prefer [vaping flower](https://hellomd.com/articles/5-tips-on-how-to-use-your-dry-flower-vaporizer-properly) anyway. Vaping hits smooth, tastes delicious, and offers a clean-feeling high.\n\n![Ancient Roots Sweet Rylando](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Screen_Shot_2022_03_03_at_3_09_02_PM_785c56cc96.png)\n\n \nI love flower because [I like to smell the buds](https://hellomd.com/articles/follow-your-nose-using-aroma-to-guide-your-cannabis-choices). Another way to choose a strain is based on [terpenes, the part of the plant that makes each strain smell and taste unique](https://hellomd.com/articles/what-are-cannabis-terpenes-and-how-do-they-work). Terpenes, aka \"terps,\" affect the quality of the high as well as the aroma and flavor. If you find out what terpenes are in your favorite strains, you can find a new strain by searching for a similar terpene profile. Most companies test for terpenes now and dispensaries will list them in the product details of the menu.\n \nI prefer [Hybrid strains because I can use them day or night](https://hellomd.com/articles/cannabis-101-indica-sativa-and-hybrid-explained) and I usually go for fruity strains with flavors of berry, banana or pineapple. I recently tried Ancient Roots Lemons n Berries flower from the newly opened [Leaf Relief Dispensary[(https://leafreliefohio.wm.store/menu/lemons-n-berries-tier-2-hybrid-5-66-g) and loved the balanced high and sweet citrus flavor. I also liked the Buckeye Relief Pineapple Upside Down Cake at [gLeaf Dispensary](https://gleaf.com/ohio/our-products-menu/) which tasted tropical and felt relaxing.\n \nTony C.\n \n—————————\n \nThere are actually a lot of weed strains to choose from in Ohio. I shop at [the Botanist in Canton](https://www.shopbotanist.com/locations/canton/hours-and-info/). Their menu is very extensive, divided up by Indica, Sativa, and Hybrid strains. To help you make educated choices, they also list the [cross-breed parent strains](https://hellomd.com/articles/cannabis-landrace-strains-what-they-are-and-why-theyre-hot) and terpenes under each strain.\n\n![How to be a cannabis budtender](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Screen_Shot_2022_03_01_at_2_24_11_PM_559cc21de4.png)\n\n \nMy favorite strains they carry right now are the Butterfly Effect Black [Jack](https://hellomd.com/strains/jack-herer) for my [creative daytime Sativa](https://hellomd.com/articles/5-cannabis-products-to-get-your-creative-juices-flowing) and the Botanist Sundae [Sunset](https://hellomd.com/strains/sunset-sherbet) to chill and [help me sleep at night](https://hellomd.com/articles/the-10-best-marijuana-strains-for-insomnia). \n \nWe can buy a [45-day supply of medical cannabis per dispensary visit in Ohio](https://terrasanacannabisco.com/faq/ohio-medical-marijuana-program-information/what-are-the-supply-limits-purchase-limits-and-total-limits-for-medical-marijuana-in-ohio/), and flower is sold in amounts of 2.83 grams, 5.66 grams, or 14.15 grams. \n\n![Fresh cannabis bud](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Screen_Shot_2022_03_01_at_9_18_38_AM_730e4bb2d4.png)\n\n \nIt's kind of a bummer that smoking cannabis isn't allowed in Ohio, but I've found a few ways around it. Thankfully, there are a lot of flower vaporizers these days so you can vaporize your weed and it's almost as easy as [smoking out of a pipe](https://hellomd.com/articles/using-pipes-and-bongs-to-smoke-medical-marijuana). You can also experiment with making your own [cannabutter and edibles](https://hellomd.com/articles/diy-recipe-cannabutter-or-cannabis-butter). It is more cost-effective if you use shake or trim, which some dispensaries carry at lower prices than big, whole buds. \n \nRyan W.","image":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"base64":"data:image/jpeg;base64,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","aspectRatio":1.492537313432836,"src":"/static/4f7196b4c74b29891ddd8bebd3232cec/14b42/759f903c6df74a9b30581180fccd0ac2.jpg","srcSet":"/static/4f7196b4c74b29891ddd8bebd3232cec/f836f/759f903c6df74a9b30581180fccd0ac2.jpg 200w,\n/static/4f7196b4c74b29891ddd8bebd3232cec/2244e/759f903c6df74a9b30581180fccd0ac2.jpg 400w,\n/static/4f7196b4c74b29891ddd8bebd3232cec/14b42/759f903c6df74a9b30581180fccd0ac2.jpg 800w,\n/static/4f7196b4c74b29891ddd8bebd3232cec/47498/759f903c6df74a9b30581180fccd0ac2.jpg 1200w,\n/static/4f7196b4c74b29891ddd8bebd3232cec/0e329/759f903c6df74a9b30581180fccd0ac2.jpg 1600w,\n/static/4f7196b4c74b29891ddd8bebd3232cec/facae/759f903c6df74a9b30581180fccd0ac2.jpg 6016w","srcWebp":"/static/4f7196b4c74b29891ddd8bebd3232cec/58556/759f903c6df74a9b30581180fccd0ac2.webp","srcSetWebp":"/static/4f7196b4c74b29891ddd8bebd3232cec/61e93/759f903c6df74a9b30581180fccd0ac2.webp 200w,\n/static/4f7196b4c74b29891ddd8bebd3232cec/1f5c5/759f903c6df74a9b30581180fccd0ac2.webp 400w,\n/static/4f7196b4c74b29891ddd8bebd3232cec/58556/759f903c6df74a9b30581180fccd0ac2.webp 800w,\n/static/4f7196b4c74b29891ddd8bebd3232cec/99238/759f903c6df74a9b30581180fccd0ac2.webp 1200w,\n/static/4f7196b4c74b29891ddd8bebd3232cec/7c22d/759f903c6df74a9b30581180fccd0ac2.webp 1600w,\n/static/4f7196b4c74b29891ddd8bebd3232cec/c3d7c/759f903c6df74a9b30581180fccd0ac2.webp 6016w","sizes":"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px"}}}}},{"node":{"id":"Question_12612-markdown","title":"What is the best way to consume marijuana to help with anxiety? I’m looking for something that can instantly relax my anxiety, any recommendations?”** \n\nKatherine C.\n\n__________________________________ \n \n![Untitledval114.png](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Untitledval114_dc4366f6e0.png)\n\nSuppose you’re looking for immediate relief from something like a sudden anxiety attack. In that case, [vaping CBD oil](https://hellomd.com/articles/how-to-vape-marijuana-safely) in a cartridge may be a good idea as the effects kick in almost immediately. Vaping is one of the most popular ways to consume CBD. A CBD vape pen provides fast relief from symptoms of anxiety, calming your body and mind almost instantaneously. \n\nVaping is also an excellent choice for those who’ve used cigarettes to cope with their anxiety in the past and are now looking for an alternative to smoking. Because vaping simulates smoking in many ways, it can feel comfortable for smokers who want a healthier but familiar method to combat their anxiety. [Verilife](https://www.verilife.com/ma/menu/shrewsbury-recreational) has a great selection of CBD and THC vapes on their website and in their multiple dispensaries.\n\nAnother great way to take CBD for your anxiety is through [CBD tinctures](https://hellomd.com/articles/cannabis-tinctures-what-they-are-and-why-you-want-them). If you’re looking for a straightforward and versatile way to take advantage of CBD for anxiety, a tincture is perhaps your best bet. You can consume tinctures in various ways. \n\nFor fast-acting relief, apply a few drops under your tongue. Alternatively, you can add CBD tinctures to just about any recipe to easily add CBD’s stress-relieving effects to your daily routine. [HelloMD](https://hellomd.com/) has many great [recipes]( https://hellomd.com/articles/diy-recipes-3-tasty-cbd-snacks-for-summer) to look through on their website.\n \nYour next option would be [CBD capsules](https://hellomd.com/articles/cannabis-capsules-why-they-might-be-right-for-you); these are best to control dosing. While vaporizers are a great way to get fast-acting relief from anxious symptoms, their dosage can sometimes be hard to control. This issue is easily solved with CBD capsules. With each capsule, you’ll know precisely how much CBD you’re consuming. \n\nTaking capsules makes it very easy to determine what amount of CBD is right for you. There are various capsules on the market, each with varying amounts of CBD. A great place to start is capsules with a high CBD to THC ratio. [Verilife](https://www.verilife.com/) has an excellent option for this, [Matter capsules](https://www.verilife.com/ny/menu/verilife-amherst-ny) containing 1.7mg of THC and 25mg of CBD per capsule.\n \n[Edibles](https://hellomd.com/articles/consuming-cannabis-edibles-to-improve-your-health) can be challenging to navigate as each person reacts differently to them. Everyone metabolizes cannabis differently, so some people may experience a relaxing, soothing effect from an edible while others experience an energizing and focusing effect. For anxiety, edibles higher in CBD content rather than THC have been said to be the best. Keep in mind that edibles can take 1-3 hours before they begin to work. \n\n\nA product that some report has a quicker result time, such as 20 minutes, is [Kiva Petra Mints](https://www.kivaconfections.com/products?brand=petra&product-type=mint). They’re highly portable, decidedly poppable, and precisely dosed cannabis mints with rich flavors ranging from spicy to sour to sweet. Each mint contains just 2.5mg of THC or less per serving, making it easy to find your optimal dose. \n \nVictoria L.\n\n__________________________________ \n\n![Untitledval115.png](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Untitledval115_81561f0be5.png)\n \nThere really isn’t a “best” way to consume cannabis for anxiety; it is highly subjective to the person consuming the marijuana and their specific needs. As aforementioned, each consumption technique has its benefits and downfalls; it’s up to you to decide which one best suits your needs. If you’re looking for rapid relief, a **CBD vape pen** will do the trick, but the effects of a vape pen won’t last very long unless you continuously rip it. If you want something more versatile, a **tincture** can be used sublingually or in any food, making it easy to consume daily; it also does not require smoking. \n\n![Untitledval110.png](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Untitledval110_025ea61e92.png)\n![Untitledval102.png](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Untitledval102_5ec448864c.png)\n\nIf you want to smoke **flower**, the [Harle-Tsu](https://hellomd.com/strains/harle-tsu) strain is a great option; with a ratio of 20:1 CBD to THC, it’s exceptionally calming without psychoactive properties. **Capsules** are another great way to consume CBD for anxiety, just take them with your daily pills and be on your way. If you’re looking for something to take where urgent relief isn’t needed, **edibles** will be your best option.\n\nAlisson M.","image":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"base64":"data:image/png;base64,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","aspectRatio":1.3245033112582782,"src":"/static/a419dad080665c429afb3be3e1637a03/ee604/c1f1077e8f7fbd7d0e3c9454ef303f46.png","srcSet":"/static/a419dad080665c429afb3be3e1637a03/69585/c1f1077e8f7fbd7d0e3c9454ef303f46.png 200w,\n/static/a419dad080665c429afb3be3e1637a03/497c6/c1f1077e8f7fbd7d0e3c9454ef303f46.png 400w,\n/static/a419dad080665c429afb3be3e1637a03/ee604/c1f1077e8f7fbd7d0e3c9454ef303f46.png 800w,\n/static/a419dad080665c429afb3be3e1637a03/f3583/c1f1077e8f7fbd7d0e3c9454ef303f46.png 1200w","srcWebp":"/static/a419dad080665c429afb3be3e1637a03/58556/c1f1077e8f7fbd7d0e3c9454ef303f46.webp","srcSetWebp":"/static/a419dad080665c429afb3be3e1637a03/61e93/c1f1077e8f7fbd7d0e3c9454ef303f46.webp 200w,\n/static/a419dad080665c429afb3be3e1637a03/1f5c5/c1f1077e8f7fbd7d0e3c9454ef303f46.webp 400w,\n/static/a419dad080665c429afb3be3e1637a03/58556/c1f1077e8f7fbd7d0e3c9454ef303f46.webp 800w,\n/static/a419dad080665c429afb3be3e1637a03/99238/c1f1077e8f7fbd7d0e3c9454ef303f46.webp 1200w","sizes":"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px"}}}}},{"node":{"id":"Question_12561-markdown","title":"What is more economical, vaping, tincture, gummies?","slug":"what-is-more-economical-vaping-tincture-gummies","content":"**Vaping, tinctures and gummies are my favorite ways of consuming cannabis. Which method gives you the best bank for the buck?**\n\nMolly P\n\n---------------\nCost is not the most reliable method of comparing these methods of ingestion. I think you have to ask yourself, which one works best for you as far as onset, duration and potency. And do you prefer inhaling the product, putting drops under your tongue or in drinks, or consuming it as a tasty gummy or other edible?\n\nBut if you want to look at cost, [Headset](https://mjbizdaily.com/chart-price-per-milligram-of-thc-varies-between-cannabis-infused-products/), a Seattle-based analytics company has done a report comparing the cost of THC in different various products. The average price per milligram of THC in edibles is 20 cents (the same price for capsules), while it is 32 cents for tinctures, sublinguals, and topicals.\n\nThe price of THC in tinctures, sublinguals, capsules and topicals could be higher because of the ratio of THC to CBD in those products. For example, a tincture with a 1:2 ratio of THC to CBD might have a higher price point for the THC.\n\n\n\nAgain, it depends on consumption methods, but if you compare vaping cannabis to smoking it, usually vaping is considered less costly because it is more concentrated and stretches your supply longer.\n\nOf course, with vaping you have to take into account costs for the type of vaping pen you use, the heating method, battery life, how you choose to smoke (for example, buds, distillate or live resin), accessories, and the ongoing cost of oil cartridges, if you use them.\n\nIn considering which method of consuming cannabis is more “economical” for you — including [how quickly CBD works](https://www.cnet.com/health/nutrition/cbd-products-explained/) in edibles, topicals, vaping and oils — it may be worthwhile to consider other factors. For example, [vaping](https://hellomd.com/articles/the-benefits-of-vaping-medical-marijuana) may be the fastest way to feel the effects of consuming cannabis, usually happening a few minutes after inhalation. \n\nAgainst this there are some health concerns. Some vape cartridges contain propylene glycol (also found in e-cigarettes), which can break down into formaldehyde, a possible carcinogen, at high temperatures. However, there are \"solvent-free\" oils available that don't use propylene glycol. \n\nBy comparison, [edibles, including gummies, ](https://hellomd.com/articles/9-foolproof-rules-for-consuming-cannabis-edibles) may take a longer time to get into your system, with onset taking 30 to 90 minutes, and perhaps even longer in some cases. Onset time can also be affected if you've eaten something before this. But against this, there is a huge variety of edible products available for every taste, from sweet to savory. And if you get a packaged edible with ingredients listed, this can help you with dosing for medical marijuana needs.\n\nGummies are one of the most prevalent types of edibles out there, so it is easy to find one with the right THC:CBD ratio you want, as well as the amounts of these cannabinoids in each piece.\n\nA [tincture](https://hellomd.com/articles/how-medical-marijuana-tinctures-helped-melt-away-my-anxiety-and-stress) is a liquid cannabis concentrate made using alcohol for the extraction. It is the second-fastest way to feel the effects of the cannabis — usually 30 minute or less after administering it under your tongue with an eyedropper. \n\nAgainst this, some people may not like the lingering aftertaste of tinctures (although different flavors may help with this). Dosing can sometimes be a bit tricky, which can be minimized with a labeled dropper.\n\nI hope that helps.\n\nNurse Talli\n![Screen Shot 2021-10-11 at 9.36.36 AM.png](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Screen_Shot_2021_10_11_at_9_36_36_AM_8e3eb9e84e.png)\n","image":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"base64":"data:image/png;base64,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","aspectRatio":1.7699115044247788,"src":"/static/5050430dd6d5873fbfce1334b44851df/ee604/51f56af574e64baf24f420fc585f3677.png","srcSet":"/static/5050430dd6d5873fbfce1334b44851df/69585/51f56af574e64baf24f420fc585f3677.png 200w,\n/static/5050430dd6d5873fbfce1334b44851df/497c6/51f56af574e64baf24f420fc585f3677.png 400w,\n/static/5050430dd6d5873fbfce1334b44851df/ee604/51f56af574e64baf24f420fc585f3677.png 800w,\n/static/5050430dd6d5873fbfce1334b44851df/f3583/51f56af574e64baf24f420fc585f3677.png 1200w,\n/static/5050430dd6d5873fbfce1334b44851df/ef8e7/51f56af574e64baf24f420fc585f3677.png 1318w","srcWebp":"/static/5050430dd6d5873fbfce1334b44851df/58556/51f56af574e64baf24f420fc585f3677.webp","srcSetWebp":"/static/5050430dd6d5873fbfce1334b44851df/61e93/51f56af574e64baf24f420fc585f3677.webp 200w,\n/static/5050430dd6d5873fbfce1334b44851df/1f5c5/51f56af574e64baf24f420fc585f3677.webp 400w,\n/static/5050430dd6d5873fbfce1334b44851df/58556/51f56af574e64baf24f420fc585f3677.webp 800w,\n/static/5050430dd6d5873fbfce1334b44851df/99238/51f56af574e64baf24f420fc585f3677.webp 1200w,\n/static/5050430dd6d5873fbfce1334b44851df/f95bf/51f56af574e64baf24f420fc585f3677.webp 1318w","sizes":"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px"}}}}},{"node":{"id":"Question_12415-markdown","title":"What are the best strains for insomnia? The most common strains are Sativa and Indica, with Indica being associated with producing a state of relaxation and promoter of sleep. New evidence is emerging that cannabis reduces time to fall asleep, shortens REM sleep, and lengthens time spent in deep sleep.\n\nIt is important to note that both Sativa and Indica strains exhibit different cannabinoid profiles and for symptom relief you may wish to consider basing your selection on the CBD to THC profiles. \n\n![Cannabis can help beat insomnia.](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Screen_Shot_2021_12_25_at_11_55_30_AM_6077c29e25.png)\n\nTHC dominant strains are more likely to cause psychoactivity, though selected [for the treatment of pain or insomnia](https://hellomd.com/articles/finding-relief-from-insomnia-with-cannabis). CBD dominant strains have a much smaller amount of THC and are used by those sensitive to THC psychoactive effects. A balanced THC/CBD strain is often preferred given its efficacy for symptom relief with less psychoactivity. \n\nAdditionally, though THC produces a more pronounced sedative effect even in small doses compared to other cannabinoids, there may be value-add of CBD in sleep enhancement by treating symptoms associated with health conditions that affect one's ability to fall asleep. \nFor those new to cannabis, it is suggested to start with a low THC amount and slowing increasing the dose until maximal symptom improvement is achieved to avoid unwanted side effects.\n\n![Cannabis flower can help you sleep at night.](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Screen_Shot_2021_12_25_at_11_56_31_AM_30b1188f1f.png)\n\nSome common strains that help people sleep are:\n\n- [Granddaddy Purple](https://hellomd.com/strains/granddaddy-purple)\n- [ACDC](https://hellomd.ca/strains/acdc)\n- [Purple Urkle](https://hellomd.com/strains/purple-urkle)\n- [Northern Lights](https://hellomd.com/strains/northern-lights)\n- [Bubba Kush](https://hellomd.com/strains/bubba-kush)\n\nI hope this helps and that you finally get a good night's sleep!\n\nCarling, NP\n_____________________\n\n![Sleep hygiene is important for getting a good night's sleep.](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Screen_Shot_2021_12_25_at_11_58_43_AM_3a9a0a1a6b.png)\n\nWhen it comes to sleep there are several things that need to be considered.
