Med Cann as a sleep aid and anxiolytic (anxiety reducer) are among two of the most popular reasons people come to our site to get a med recc. However, we can help you better if you arrange for a consultation. Sometimes, MD's such as myself will ask questions and find out that the pt has other issues such as sleep apnea that need to be addressed by the pt's primary MD. Anxiety is a very complex issue and in my practice, I always reccomend a multi-modal approach ; in other words, I try to find root causes and offer both cann and non-cann recommendations. In my experience, anxiety is never solved by medication alone, be it a prescription pill I recommend or med cann. I hope this helps out and hope you give us a try!\n\ndrpark","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7191-markdown","title":"What dosage of Trokie lozenge should I take to help with my insomnia?","slug":"what-dosage-of-trokie-lozenge-should-i-take-to-help-with-my-insomnia","content":"\"I have not tried lozenges before, only smoked flower to help me fall asleep at night. The different genetics and growing conditions also produce a variety of effects. Indica is generally more sedating, relaxing and is better for pain and is thought to put one \"in da couch\", while sativa is more stimulating and helps with energy, mood, and appetite. Hybrids are a mix of these two plant types. CBD and THC are also found in variable levels in different plant types. I suggest you start with these two searches, and then if you have further specific questions, feel free to post them:\n\nhttps://www.hellomd.com/search/pain\nhttps://www.hellomd.com/search/insomnia\n\nmark\n_____________________\nHi Friend,\n\nMany people are going to recommend you indica for pain and sleep. However, I would go about it a little differently. For sleep I would use an indica with a kava extract and some CBD oil. If that doesn't work you could add passionflower and valerian root. And I'm sorry, if that doesn't work... nothing natural short of opium will. \n\nFor pain, you really need to identify the root cause of the pain in order to get a true sense of what's really going to work. There are too many different types of pain and some will respond better to anti-inflammation, others need endorphins to kick in while still others may be much more neurological and CBD can really help with that. But take it easy. Generally, the best thing for pain is rest and some MJ can really aid in that department. I know it's not what someone also suffering from insomnia wants to hear but the plus side is... focus on the insomnia first and the pain by rights, should improve.\n\ne420bar","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7122-markdown","title":"Can you recommend edibles for sleep. ","slug":"can-you-recommend-edibles-for-sleep","content":"\n_____________________\nCannabis is the best sleep aide \"not on the market\". It is safe, effective and affordable. Compared with inhalation, Edibles take longer to have effects, but can provide a longer duration of action. Edibles (and tinctures) can be very effective for helping people stay asleep through the night. I personally have found great success using a 1:1 CBD:THC oral oil. Generally indica strains will have \"in da couch\" effects and help provide relaxation and improved sleep. However other patients report improved sleep from many different kinds of cannabis. Patients who suffer from sleep apnea report improved sleep by using cannabis. This has been confirmed by studies that show cannabis helps to relax some of the muscles in the back of throat that contribute to a constricted airway. Try some different types of cannabis and see what works best for you.\n\nandrewvanmd\n_____________________\nWe carry a number of edibles that are ideal for sleep and continually receive high remarks by our customers for aiding their sleep. These products are: Hashman Indica Chocolate Bar, Defonce Dark Chocolate Bar, Defonce Dark + Chocolate Bar, 420 Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt Bar, and Bittersweet Chocolate Coin (Indica). No matter what edible you go with you're going to want Indica over Sativa since Indica relaxes where as Sativa stimulates. You can find the edibles mentioned above along with our other items on our 100% organic and vegan menu here: https://greendoorwest.com/collections\n\npetergdw\n_____________________\nWe sell a great tincture that is designed specifically to aid with sleep: Forest Nymph Sweet Dreams Tincture. It is safe, effective and affordable. It is a very diverse plant and can have different effects based on the genetics of the plant, where it is grown, how it is grown and how is it utilized. Indica and sativa are the two ends of a wide spectrum with hybrids in-between. Indica can put one \"in da couch\", and aides with sleep, relaxation and pain. Sativa is often more uplifting and energizing, helping with appetite, depression. Utilizing cannabis by inhalation (smoking, vaping, dabbing) is the most rapid method, while sublingual and oral administration take longer to \"kick it\" and last a bit longer. Edibles and suppositories have the longest duration of effects and often take a few hours to reach peak effects. Start with a small dose and increase as needed.\n\nandrewvanmd\n_____________________\nEveryone is different, so it really depends on what works best for you and may come down to a bit of trial and error. The one thing you'll want to keep in mind no matter what method you choose is going with Indica strains over Sativa strains. Indica strains relax the mind and body while sativa strains stimulate the body and mind. Beyond that, the method you decided to use will come down to what's best for you. You can go the conventional route of smoking, but you can also vape, use edibles, tinctures, pills, etc. \n\ngreendoorwest","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7107-markdown","title":"pain from muscle spasms ","slug":"pain-from-muscle-spasms","content":"\"I have dystonia which causes muscles spasms and pain in the upper trapezius muscles when I'm active. I would also try increasing the THC in your edible and sublingual cannabis preparations. Also, when you take the sublingual spray make sure you are doing the following.... 1) Before applying the spray, remove excess saliva from your mouth. 2) Allow the preparation to remain under your tongue for as long as possible, in order to achieve sublingual/oral absorption.\n\nandrewvanmd","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7071-markdown","title":"can this help chronic pain","slug":"can-this-help-chronic-pain","content":"\"spinalcord injury in the cervical and lumbar\r\nI had cervicle fusion on my c4-c5-c6 and have nerve pain and insomnia.\r\nwhat can i do?\r\nCan this help chronic pain?\"\n_____________________\nHello there! First, a couple of questions. By nerve pain, do you mean neuropathic pain (i.e. numbness, tingling, burning, etc?) . Is this occurring in your fingertips? If this is worsening, I might recc. that you go back to neurosurgeon/ back doctor who performed your surgery. From the way things are phrased, I take it that your insomnia is related to this pain? In my humble practice experience, med cann products can be helpful for both the nerve pain and the insomnia but this is best done in the context of what we call a multi-modal/ multi-system approach. This means that physical therapy should be involved and other modalities for pain control/ analgesia (i.e.l myofascial release, heat/ cold application, topical medications both cann and prescription based, poss. TENS unit use, etc) should be used with med cann products. Feel free to come ask questions from our various MD's who are well versed in this area. I hope this helps!\n\ndrpark","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7035-markdown","title":"This i what 've been using and my obstructive sleep apnea persists. A soak in Cannabis infused epsom salts before bed might help as well. But none of this should replace your medical regimen or counter your doctor's advice.\n\nI will be back as soon as possible. I would say that Master OG made me feel the sleepiest the quickest and that Pennywise is worth noting as it is a CBD strain, adding an extra dimension of relaxation. If any of your sleeplessness is due to anxiety or racing thoughts, a CBD strain will go a long way to help you rest.\r\n\r\nEach strain may affect you differently, so you may want to experiment with a few heavy indicas to see which works best with your own chemistry.\n\nryan\n_____________________\nWe sell a great tincture that is designed specifically to aid with sleep: Forest Nymph Sweet Dreams Tincture.
