If you're not sure yet how medical cannabis will effect you, it's best to start with small controlled doses that can be increased incrementally. A balanced ratio of THC and CBD typically seems to provide the most pain relief with less of a 'high' feeling. The two cannabinoids work together to provide pain relief, while the CBD actually lessens the 'headiness' of the THC high.\n\nFor example, at Sessions we carry the ONE CBD Balance tincture -- https://sessionscc.com/shop/cbd-one-tinctures/\n\nYou could also try to the full CBD tincture, but anecdotally I've found most people seem to need the synergy of THC and CBD working together to maximize pain relief.\n\nGood luck!\n\nbenson\n_____________________\nFor various types of chronic pain (fibromyalgia, arthritis and RA) my go-to medication is Nternal Oral Elixir by Making You Better Brands. Just this damp and chilly morning as I drank my coffee, a widespread ache began to “pour” into my limbs. I took one sub-lingual pump of the oil, amounting to 1/4 of a dose (1/4 ml) and sat back. A second surge of pain and a second pump of oil and within minutes I was pain free. I consider it a miracle in my daily life. Nternal features The Micro Dose - a full-spectrum, low-dose Cannabinoid profile that promotes homeostasis - internal system balance. At this dosage level, I'm not experiencing any \"headiness.\"\n\nI began using the oil a few years ago and the boiling, exploding pain of RA in my hands is now a thing of the past, along with the red knuckles and gnarly joints. It no longer hurts to write! Best of all, within 30 days of using Nternal, I was off Vicodin and Xanax, which I’d been taking for a year or more. It’s been over two years now and I’m still off opiates. \n\nI would also recommend Xternal Soak - a Cannabis infused Epsom salt soak for immediate relief from foot (and all-over body) pain. Our Spray and Balm would also provide immediate (and affordable) relief. Xternal topicals are non-activated and therefore non-psychoactive. Pain relief with zero headiness.\n\nFull disclosure, I’m now part of the company, holding down the Sports Desk and fielding questions about our products. The reason I have no hesitation in recommending Nternal and Xternal is because they worked for me like nothing else.\n\nxternal\n_____________________\nYou'll want an edible or tincture that is high in CBD but low in THC. CBD has all the medical benifits of THC without the psychoactive qualities. We have a number of products that would be perfect for this: Medi-Roons Lemon Pie (CBD), Medi-Roons Brownie (CBD), and Forest Nymph Pain Relief Tincture. These will all be great places to start and after gauging your reaction to them you can fine tune from there. You can find these items along with all our other products in our 100% organic and vegan menu here: https://greendoorwest.com/collections\n\ngreendoorwest","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7136-markdown","title":"I'm a caregiver for a leukemia patient. I like the tinctures in MCT oil but I do not know if there is an actual difference in the effectiveness since both seem to work well. In addition, all of us are Vitamin D deficient since we do not live naked outside and Vitamin D is made in the oil in the skin so we cannot make Vitamin D in our skin after 50 years old and you should not wash the oil off your skin. If you get darker in the sun, your skin likely blocks the production of Vitamin D and without supplement, you will likely go on to develop the diseases associated with vitamin D deficiency, depression, anxiety, hypertension, heart disease, autoimmune disease, diabetes, Weight gain, Osteoporosis, arthritis, chronic pain and even cancer.\nI also think it's a good idea to ask your local Bud Tender, what tincture did they see as their largest seller for back pain issues. They tend to know what they carry that works the best.\n\ndrolson\n_____________________\nI would reccomend a whole plant high CBD tincture. You can try various ratios of CBD and THC, depending on what best treats your pain and works for your lifestyle.\n\nandrewvanmd\n_____________________\nI agree with Dr. Vanderveer, a whole plant high CBD tincture is a good place to start..many of our members find very good inflammation and pain relief with just the high CBD tinctures. Since every one is different, if you don't get relief from just a high CBD tincture, try adding a small amount of THC tincture to the mix. Some people have found that this combination worked better for them. Tinctures provide very consistent dosing. Be willing to give yourself some time to experiment to find what works for you!!\n\nPiantaTinta","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7121-markdown","title":"I can't seem to find very many hybrid tinctures in California. If it is an oil/glycerin base then it would be a shorter shelf life as oils do go rancid over time. If the CBD tincture is in a 190 proof ethyl alcohol base like our tinctures are, then the shelf life can be 2 years up to even 10 years. The high proof alcohol acts as a preservative if stored from heat and light. I would suspect that the compounds in the tinctures will over time decrease and therefore decrease potency, so if you have had a bottle for over 2 years, you might want to have the cannabinoids tested to see if it still has potency.\n\nPiantaTinta\n_____________________\nThere is very little research currently on the speed at which tinctures degrade. As of now what we do know is that Tinctures can last for years retaining their specific characteristics. The taste, color, consistency, etc. may change but the integrity of the tincture will not. \n\npetergdw","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7094-markdown","title":"what kind of tincture for stage fright","slug":"what-kind-of-tincture-for-stage-fright","content":"\n_____________________\nWell, stage fright is a result of anxiety which can actually lead to a panic attack. I've had those, oh, not so much fun. The good news is is that CBD is proving to be effective for some people's anxiety. I use a high CBD tincture which I love. Your choice is what ratio you want. It can be 1:1 which may be psychoactive for you or as high as 20:1 which is completely non psychoactive. You could also try CBDA which is a new product they have. \n\nThis represents my opinion only, I am not a doctor. I suffer from peripheral neuropathy in my feet, spinal stenosis and sciatica. Can you recommend a topical and also a tincture. I do not want to feel high. Thank you. \n\nLaura\"\n_____________________\nI would definitely recommend you give Sweet Releaf Extra Strength a try. We have direct patient feedback on it helping for all three, but of course how it will work for you depends on how bad your pain is on any of these three conditions. Neuropathy in the feet responds very well if applied at least once a day for a few weeks. We have one 94 year old patient who used it this way and was not only able to walk again after regularly needing a wheelchair. With continued daily application for several more weeks, he felt well enough to dance again! A patient with spinal stenosis found that it helped ease her pain for hours at a time which is a relief when you are in constant pain, but she had to apply it twice daily or whenever the pain returned. I have heard patients say it eased sciatica, but again it really depends on how intense your sciatica is. Definitely worth a try. You may be surprised. The 94 yr old patient mentioned was surprised to find that it also cured his toenail fungus!\n\ndidi","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7021-markdown","title":"when making cbd tincture in alcohol, can you leave the cannabis in the tincture for longer periods of time","slug":"when-making-cbd-tincture-in-alcohol-can-you-leave-the-cannabis-in-the-tincture-for-longer-periods-of-time","content":"\n_____________________\nWell there are a variety of ways to make a high CBD tincture. We recently wrote an article on this topic:\n\nhttps://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/diy-make-a-high-cbd-cannabis-tincture\n\nI think the key is is if you are starting with raw cannabis it is recommended that you decarboxylate it as this activates the THC and CBD. After this, at least in our recipe we suggest that you leave it for 2-3 weeks in a cool dark place and shake it every now again.\n\nPlease know that you will not be able to know what your dosage is accurately from this, so start low and slow until you know how much CBD and THC works for you.\n\nI am not a doctor and this post represents my opinion only. This is a much faster route of administration than other edibles that have to be digested and processed by your stomach and liver before being distributed to the rest of your body.\n\nIf your condition does not require fast-acting relief you can definitely consume the tincture any way you like by adding to a drink or food. At Sessions we sell coconut oil-based tinctures that are great for this! Just keep in mind this will delay onset of effects.\n\nFor fastest onset, try dropping the tincture under your tongue, holding it there for 5 to 10 seconds, and then swishing it around a bit before swallowing. This will allow some of the active cannabinoids in the tincture to be absorbed directly through the blood vessels in your mouth which means more rapid distribution to the cannabinoid receptors throughout your body.\n\nbenson","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_6958-markdown","title":"I use capsules & tinctures of CBD, I have tried to Vape but the next morning I am coughing up phlegm.","slug":"i-use-capsules-tinctures-of-cbd-i-have-tried-to-vape-but-the-next-morning-i-am-coughing-up-phlegm","content":"\n_____________________\nTo me it sounds like you're doing larger hits when you vape and you maybe holding the medicine in, instead of blowing it right out....\nChange things up a bit and do very small hits, blowing right out and I think your lungs will be much happier.....
