But just because this chili is simple to make doesn’t mean it lacks taste or complexity. The flavors are robust, the ingredients are rich in fiber and vitamins, plus the added cannabis tincture will bring a whole new meaning to the term “comfort food.”\n\nFOLLOW US ON [FACEBOOK](https://www.facebook.com/pg/hellomdcompany/posts/) & [INSTAGRAM](https://www.instagram.com/hellomd_com/?hl=en) \n\nYou can add the marijuana tincture of your choice to this chili. If you live in a state where cannabis tinctures are available, one containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) will give you a nice, full-body high that typically includes some psychoactive affects.\n\nFor many, [THC helps address a host of health conditions](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/5a8dab1cf24d1300077ccb58/the-pros-and-cons-of-psychoactive-thc) like: \n\n* Depression\n* Insomnia\n* Stress\n* Pain \n\nIf you don’t have legal access to cannabis tinctures or don’t want to experience cannabis’s psychoactive effects, don’t worry. You can infuse this chili with a non-psychoactive hemp-derived cannabidiol (CBD) tincture. High-quality hemp CBD is known for its ability to help with, among other things:\n\n* Inflammation\n* Muscle spasms\n* General pain relief\n\nWhat’s especially great about hemp CBD tinctures is that they’re available and can be shipped anywhere in the U.S. Just know that hemp CBD tinctures receive the same sort of oversight as dietary supplements, which is to say not that much. That’s why it’s incredibly important to [buy your hemp-derived CBD from a trusted source](https://www.hellomd.com/products?category=Tinctures) to ensure your hemp CBD is free of additives and is processed safely. \n\nRELATED: [WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR WHEN BUYING HEMP CBD OIL](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/5b5e97d0a1805500087db9d9/what-to-watch-out-for-when-buying-hemp-cbd-oil)\n\nAs far as adding the cannabis tincture to your chili, it’s easier to add it separately to each bowl right before serving. By stirring in the cannabis tincture after you’ve portioned it out, you can tailor the dosage to each person’s exact needs and tolerance levels. Plus, you’ll be able to give everyone a more precise cannabis dose.\n\nIf you’re stirring the tincture into a giant bowl of chili, it will be hard to get the cannabis dosage the same for each bowl. Of course, if you’re including a hemp-derived CBD that doesn’t produce psychoactive effects, uneven dosages may not be such an issue. \n \n### Ingredients for Simple & Healthy Cannabis-Infused Chili\n\nYou can easily make this a vegetarian chili by skipping the meat.\n\n* 5 mL tincture of your choice per serving\n* 3 tbsp olive oil\n* 1 white onion, diced\n* 2 red peppers, cleaned and diced\n* 4 cloves minced garlic\n* 1 1/2 tsp cumin\n* 1/4 tsp chili powder\n* Sea salt\n* Ground black pepper\n* 1 can kidney beans, rinsed and drained\n* 1 can black beans, rinsed and drained\n* 3 cans diced tomatoes\n* 1 cup frozen corn\n* 1 package (16 oz) meat (beef cubes or ground chicken, pork or beef will work best) \n\n### How to Make Simple & Healthy Cannabis-Infused Chili\n\n1. In a large stock pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium heat. \n2. Add the diced onions, peppers, garlic, cumin, cayenne, chili powder, and salt and pepper. Cook until the onions are translucent and soft, around 3 or 4 minutes.\n3. Add the meat to the pot and brown, stirring occasionally. \n4. Then mix in the kidney and black beans, tomatoes and corn. \n5. Turn up the heat to a boil, then lower it to a simmer. Let the chili simmer for 30 minutes while stirring occasionally, allowing all of the flavors to meld together. \n6. Scoop chili into as many bowls as needed.\n6. Before you serve, add the cannabis or hemp-derived CBD tincture to each bowl and mix thoroughly. \n7. You can top this chili with Greek yogurt (a healthier alternative to sour cream), cheddar cheese, and green onions if you want to add more flavor. \n\nPhoto credit: [Marco Verch](https://www.flickr.com/photos/30478819@N08/)\n\nIf you’re new to cannabis and want to learn more, take a look at our [Cannabis 101](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/5b8882d88dd0720008373fcf/cannabis-101-what-you-need-to-know-to-about-marijuana) index of articles. In Korea, healthy, supple, dewy, well-hydrated skin is the standard. \n\nFOLLOW US ON [FACEBOOK](https://www.facebook.com/pg/hellomdcompany/posts/) & [INSTAGRAM](https://www.instagram.com/hellomd_com/?hl=en)\n\nSure, you can buy these K-Beauty products or you can make one right in the comfort of your own home. Why not start off with a nourishing face mask?\n\nWhen you make a face mask at home, you have the freedom to add whatever you want, including antioxidant-rich, inflammation-reducing, hemp cannabidiol (CBD) oil. Korean beauty treatments typically use plant extracts and other natural ingredients to promote healthy skin, so adding hemp CBD to the mix seems only natural. \n\n### Discover the Beneficial Ingredients in This Hemp CBD Mask \n\nTo brighten and purify your skin, this recipe combines the power of:\n\n* Yogurt\n* Honey\n* Turmeric\n* Hemp-derived CBD\n* Essential oils \n\nThe yogurt helps brighten the skin by getting rid of surface skin cells that have seen better days. Honey and CBD purify the skin with their powerful antibacterial properties, while also calming inflammation and locking in moisture.\n\nAnd turmeric helps even skin tone, working wonders for hyperpigmentation. Hemp CBD is also full of antioxidants, even more powerful than vitamins C and E, both widely used in anti-aging skin care products. \n\nTry the mask on mornings after a night of drinking or bad sleep, when skin tends to be dull and dehydrated. It can also make a difference in your skin’s overall appearance if you’ve had a few days of where you’ve skipped your vegetables and instead indulged in some greasier food options. \n\nThis mask is intended to be gentle, so that it can be used multiple times a week without causing any irritation. \n\nRELATED: [DIY RECIPE: MOISTURIZING CBD LIP BALM](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/5ba4779728d6e8000971f816/diy-recipe-moisturizing-cbd-lip-balm) \n\n### Ingredients for the Korean-Style CBD Brightening & Purifying Face Mask\n\n* 1 tbsp plain yogurt\n* 1 tbsp honey (Manuka preferred, but not required) \n* 1 tbsp turmeric powder\n* 1/2 dropper full of your favorite hemp-derived CBD oil. Suddenly, you also notice another side effect—you’re ridiculously hungry. \n\nNow, maybe you’ve already eaten, or maybe your hunger pangs are real. But either way, the pull to start snacking is huge. Your stomach rumbles, your mouth waters, and your mind starts making a list of all of the possible snack foods in a 10-mile radius.\n\nWhen you do find something to snack on, the food tastes amazingly good. Maybe it's just a regular old bag of chips, but it tastes so much better than it ever has and you end up eating the whole bag. And many worry about how this excessive snacking may affect their health and waistlines. \n\nSo why not ditch the chips and stock your fridge with some healthy and easy-to-make snacks? \n\nHere’s our list of tasty snacks that will tame the munchies without compromising your health. \n\nFOLLOW US ON [FACEBOOK](https://www.facebook.com/pg/hellomdcompany/posts/) & [INSTAGRAM](https://www.instagram.com/hellomd_com/?hl=en)\n\n### Misconceptions About the Munchies\n\nBefore we get to the recipes, we should mention the science behind the munchies. Now, you may think that the munchies means cannabis use will lead to weight gain. But the research actually shows the opposite. [Cannabis can actually shift your metabolism to help you burn more of the calories you take in](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/56cb9d8ececb1b000b000073/the-munchies-will-make-you-fat-right-think-again).\n\nSo even for those who increase their caloric intake, the metabolic changes seem to make up for the increase in calories. In fact, [cannabis consumers weigh less on average](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/5ac3cf91f24d1300077ccbb8/can-cannabis-help-you-lose-weight) than non-consumers do.\n\nRELATED: [THE SCIENCE BEHIND HOW CANNABIS CAN BOOST YOUR METABOLISM](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/5ab1e34bf24d1300077ccb94/the-science-behind-how-cannabis-can-boost-your-appetite)\n\nBut this doesn’t mean you should gorge yourself on junk food. Your body still needs a healthy balance of fresh, nutrient-packed whole foods to be at its best. And weight gain isn’t the only issue with unhealthy foods. They can contribute to conditions like high blood pressure and acid reflux. So why not make the change to healthier options? \n\nHere are my five favorite quick and healthy snacks when the munchies hit:\n\n### 1. Apple Slices & Almond Butter Satisfy Salty-Sweet Cravings\n\nSweet and salty is a commonly craved flavor combination, and these cravings only get stronger when cannabis is in the picture. Satisfy your instincts with this incredibly simple snack.\n\nTo make this snack, simply cut up an apple into slices and spread some almond butter on one side of each slice. \n\nWant even more sweet and salty? You can add some salt or dark chocolate chips on top to bump up the flavor intensity. Your marijuana-boosted taste buds will thank you for this crave-worthy dish. \n\n### 2. Hummus & Veggies Are a Perfect Savory Snack Post-Cannabis Consumption \n\nFor something simple and savory, there are few snacks as satisfying and easy to pull off as hummus and veggies. \n\nHummus is easy to find premade in a variety of healthy flavors, so you can grab one that looks tasty and keep it in your fridge for when the munchies arrive. \n\nYou should also pick out your favorite veggies to dip in the hummus. To simplify, use veggies that are already in easy-to-dip sizes like baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, broccoli or pre-cut celery sticks. This way, you don’t have to do any prep work when you’re ready to snack. \n\nJust dip your veggies in the hummus and enjoy. \n\n### 3. Avocado Salsa Toast Is a Nutrient-Packed Way to Deal With the Munchies\n\nAvocado toast is quite the trendy snack these days, but not without reason. This healthy dish is packed with beneficial fats, fiber and nutrients. And did I mention it’s delicious? \n\nThis spin on the classic is easy to make at home. All you need is a slice of healthy whole grain bread, a quarter of an avocado and a spoonful of your favorite salsa. \n\nJust toast the bread, mash together the salsa and avocado, and spread the mixture on top of the toast. \n\n### 4. Sweet Potato Fries Are a Healthy Way to Satisfy a Salty Marijuana-Induced Craving\n\nWhen I get the munchies, the first snack food I think of is french fries—crispy on the outside, warm on the inside, and so perfectly sweet and salty. Of course, french fries aren’t the healthiest snack because of the oil they’re usually fried in. So, I tend to avoid running out for fast food when I get that french fry craving. \n\nThat’s why I love indulging in this alternative to the classic french fry: baked sweet potato fries. \n\nWhile they taste even sweeter than white potatoes do, sweet potatoes are slightly lower in calories and carbohydrates than their counterparts are. And you can bake them with a healthy fat like olive oil. \n\nIt’s easy to find pre-cut frozen sweet potato fries in the frozen food aisle, but you can also cut up your own sweet potatoes into 1-inch wide wedges. Place your fries on a cookie sheet, brush with olive oil, and then season to your taste with salt and red chili pepper flakes. Cook at 425 degrees F for 20–25 minutes, flipping the fries half-way through. \n\nWhen they’re finished, spritz them with some lime juice for extra flavor, and add more salt as needed. \n\nWho needs fast-food french fries with this healthy and flavorful alternative? \n\n### 5. Fresh Berries & Yogurt After Consuming Cannabis Can Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth\n\nWhile these salty and savory options are incredible, sometimes the munchies demand something sweet. And nothing quite satisfies a sweetness craving like fresh fruit can. \n\nStock your fridge with fresh berries like blueberries, blackberries or strawberries. I tend to go with whatever’s in season. Then pick out some yogurts that will go well with your fruit. Vanilla is always a good fit, but you can make up all kinds of fun combinations with the many yogurt varieties available. \n\nHere are a few tasty combinations to try:\n\n* Chocolate mousse yogurt with strawberries\n* Cinnamon apple yogurt with blueberries\n* Almond yogurt with blackberries \n* Lemon crème yogurt with raspberries \n\nWhen the sweet cravings hit, you’ll be ready with a flavor combination that’s sure to satisfy your munchies. Just toss the fruit onto your yogurt and enjoy. \n \nPhoto credit: [Lisa Fotios](https://www.pexels.com/@fotios-photos)\n\nIf you’re new to cannabis and want to learn more, take a look at our [Cannabis 101](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/5b8882d88dd0720008373fcf/cannabis-101-what-you-need-to-know-to-about-marijuana) index of articles. But once we’re bundled up for the winter, we often forget that our biggest organ still needs some tender loving care.\n\nOur lips are especially vulnerable to seasonal changes. And extremes in temperature, combined with decreased hydration, can lead to cracked lips and an increased dependence on petroleum-based lip products.\n\nFor cannabis consumers, natural relief is only a few minutes away. This lip balm recipe calls for cannabidiol (CBD) oil. Though any CBD oil or [hemp-derived CBD oil](https://www.hellomd.com/products?category=Tinctures) would work wonderfully for this recipe, you may want to start out with an oil that doesn’t have any added essential oils. Because it has anti-inflammatory properties, you can use this lip balm liberally on red, itchy lips or feel free to dab some balm on cracked, inflamed or irritated skin. \n\nCBD’s antioxidant properties make recipes like this a lifesaver for people suffering from dry, scaly skin. And because you’re using non-psychoactive CBD oil, you can give this as a gift to your noncannabis-consuming friends and family members without worry.\n\nRELATED: [DIY RECIPE: KOREAN-STYLE CBD BRIGHTENING FACE MASK](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/5ba93c6028d6e8000971f82d/diy-recipe-korean-style-cbd-brightening-face-mask)\n\nThis recipe takes about 30 minutes to prepare, and the ingredients are widely available at health food stores and online. It yields approximately 16 8-mL lipstick tubes or about 8 1/2-oz lip balm jars. That’s enough for you and your family, with a few stocking stuffers to spare.\n\n![CBD-lip-balm-ingredients](https://hellomd-development.s3.amazonaws.com/markdown-image-injector-c4024b0f-4da6-4f45-af2e-7c426881f020/original.png)\n\n### Ingredients for CBD Lip Balm\n\n* 2 tbsp shea butter\n* 2 tbsp beeswax pellets (cosmetic grade preferable)\n* 2 tbsp firm coconut oil\n* 2 tbsp CBD oil of your choice\n* Optional ingredients: essential oils such as lavender, lemon or peppermint; vanilla extract or other flavoring\n\n### How to Make CBD Lip Balm\n\n1. You can either use a double boiler or microwave to melt the ingredients. \n2. If using a double boiler, fill a sauce pan with about an inch of water and heat until boiling. Lower to a simmer and place a Pyrex bowl on top of the saucepan. Add all ingredients to the bowl and heat until melted. Remove bowl from saucepan. \n3. If using a microwave, combine all ingredients in a bowl and heat for 30 seconds to 1 1/2 minutes until melted. \n4. When your ingredients are completely liquid, add essential oils if using. Always use a small amount of essential oils or flavoring oils to start—2–6 drops should be enough, but feel free to add more according to your taste.\n5. Using a funnel, pour the liquid balm into lipstick tubes or pomade jars. The balm will begin to solidify within a few minutes. If you need more time, feel free to reheat the oil back to a liquid state. \n6. Cover your containers and let the balm solidify at room temperature. Once solid, the balm should be stored at room temperature.\n\nMain photo credit: [Sergey Chetvertnykh](https://www.pexels.com/@sergey-chetvertnykh-304501)\n","image":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"base64":"data:image/jpeg;base64,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","aspectRatio":1.3888888888888888,"src":"/static/9cdda993b5879741c13aafc4d22bfd2f/14b42/c3c00d8ee929985e576b49ef8659a360.jpg","srcSet":"/static/9cdda993b5879741c13aafc4d22bfd2f/f836f/c3c00d8ee929985e576b49ef8659a360.jpg 200w,\n/static/9cdda993b5879741c13aafc4d22bfd2f/2244e/c3c00d8ee929985e576b49ef8659a360.jpg 400w,\n/static/9cdda993b5879741c13aafc4d22bfd2f/14b42/c3c00d8ee929985e576b49ef8659a360.jpg 800w,\n/static/9cdda993b5879741c13aafc4d22bfd2f/47498/c3c00d8ee929985e576b49ef8659a360.jpg 1200w,\n/static/9cdda993b5879741c13aafc4d22bfd2f/0e329/c3c00d8ee929985e576b49ef8659a360.jpg 1600w,\n/static/9cdda993b5879741c13aafc4d22bfd2f/1f354/c3c00d8ee929985e576b49ef8659a360.jpg 3658w","srcWebp":"/static/9cdda993b5879741c13aafc4d22bfd2f/58556/c3c00d8ee929985e576b49ef8659a360.webp","srcSetWebp":"/static/9cdda993b5879741c13aafc4d22bfd2f/61e93/c3c00d8ee929985e576b49ef8659a360.webp 200w,\n/static/9cdda993b5879741c13aafc4d22bfd2f/1f5c5/c3c00d8ee929985e576b49ef8659a360.webp 400w,\n/static/9cdda993b5879741c13aafc4d22bfd2f/58556/c3c00d8ee929985e576b49ef8659a360.webp 800w,\n/static/9cdda993b5879741c13aafc4d22bfd2f/99238/c3c00d8ee929985e576b49ef8659a360.webp 1200w,\n/static/9cdda993b5879741c13aafc4d22bfd2f/7c22d/c3c00d8ee929985e576b49ef8659a360.webp 1600w,\n/static/9cdda993b5879741c13aafc4d22bfd2f/0b72d/c3c00d8ee929985e576b49ef8659a360.webp 3658w","sizes":"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px"}}}}},{"node":{"id":"Article_2815-markdown","title":"DIY Recipe: Cannabis-Infused Challah for Rosh Hashanah","slug":"diy-recipe-cannabis-infused-challah-for-rosh-hashanah","content":"For those in the Jewish community, the end of summer coincides with Rosh Hashanah—the Jewish New Year. It’s a two-day celebration, starting this year at sundown on Sunday, Sept. 9 and continuing until Tuesday, Sept. 11. It marks the start of a brand-new year and commemorates, according to the religion, Adam and Eve’s creation. Like many religious holidays, it’s a time for family and friends to come together, break bread and delight in a time-revered ceremony. \n\nFOLLOW US ON [FACEBOOK](https://www.facebook.com/pg/hellomdcompany/posts/) & [INSTAGRAM](https://www.instagram.com/hellomd_com/?hl=en)\n\nMany traditions come along with Rosh Hashanah, from lighting candles each night and reciting associated blessings to the shofar blowing ceremony and shared meals every day. Each of these meals begin with a ceremony that includes the recitation of a special Kiddush over red wine and [challah bread](https://www.myjewishlearning.com/article/challah/). \n\nChallah is an important part of Judaism—even the number of braids and humps on top of the loaf symbolize various concepts like peace and love. It can be a great way to incorporate some natural medicine into the holiday to make everyone feel relaxed, happy and festive—and cannabis is also considered kosher if smoked or eaten along with other kosher ingredients. \n\nWe hope this cannabis-infused challah helps carry you into a new and sweet year. \n\nRELATED: [JEWS & CANNABIS: A RELATIONSHIP ROOTED IN SCIENCE AND RELIGION](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/59c1b57593afe72b03311721/jews-and-cannabis-a-relationship-rooted-in-science-and-religion) \n\n### Ingredients for Cannabis-Infused Challah Bread for Rosh Hashanah\n\nThis recipe makes two loaves of challah bread.\n\n* 1 tsp active dry yeast\n* 15 mL cannabis tincture of your choice, plus enough olive oil to make 1/2 cup total\n* 3 3/4 cups unbleached bread flour \n* 1 1/4 cup warm water\n* 1 3/4 tsp table salt\n\n### How to Make Cannabis-Infused Challah Bread for Rosh Hashanah\n\n1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast and 11/4 cups unbleached bread flour; whisk together until smooth. \n2. Leave the yeast uncovered to ferment for about 15–20 minutes, or until it begins to expand.\n3. Once the yeast has puffed up, add the oil and tincture mixture, as well as the salt; whisk thoroughly. \n4. Once the salt is completely dissolved, add the remaining 2 1/2 cups of unbleached flour. It may be easiest to use your hands to combine these ingredients. Add a tablespoon of flour at a time if the dough is too wet, or a tablespoon of water at a time if the dough is too dry. Continue to combine the ingredients until the dough can be formed into a ball. \n5. On a clean and floured surface, knead the dough using the heel of your palm to push the dough out. Then fold the dough in half and begin kneading again for 6–8 minutes.\n6. Once the dough is completely kneaded, fill a large mixing bowl with warm water. Let the water heat the bowl and then pour it out. Place the dough inside and cover it, leaving it to ferment for 2–3 hours. The dough should end up being three times the size as when it was originally. \n7. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Divide the dough in half for the 2 loaves. Divide each loaf into 3 pieces and braid it. Cover these loaves thoroughly with plastic wrap on top of the baking sheet and refrigerate for 8 hours. \nRemove the loaves from the refrigerator and take the plastic wrap off, covering the loaves with a clean dish towel loosely draped on top. Let them proof for 2 1/2 hours. They should expand significantly, up to 3 times the original size. \n8. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F and move a rack to the middle position with no racks above. The kids are back in school, the days are getting shorter, and—for some of us—there’s a distinct fall chill in the air. But there’s still time to celebrate summer. The last big holiday of the season, Labor Day, is right around the corner, and we hope you’re able to spend it with friends, family and great food.\n\nIf you want to make it an even more memorable holiday, why not infuse some of your side dishes with cannabis? It’ll make for an elevated experience that won’t induce a hangover. And with these recipes, including marijuana in your Labor Day spread has never been easier. \n\nTo infuse these recipes, we’ve added cannabis tinctures, or oils. Are you new to cannabis tinctures? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with this [guide to cannabis tinctures](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/598c7958c760c43045c3375c/cannabis-tinctures-what-they-are-and-why-you-want-them). Or you could choose a hemp-derived cannabidiol (CBD) oil that won’t make you feel high and will impart all of CBD’s anti-inflammatory and anti-anxiety benefits. \n\nIt’s up to you. Just be sure you label your elevated side dishes, especially if you include a marijuana tincture that has THC. \n\n### Cannabis-Infused Watermelon Feta Salad\n\nYou won’t believe how simple this recipe is. But rest assured, all it takes are two easy steps.\n\n#### Ingredients for Cannabis-Infused Watermelon Feta Salad\n\n* 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil\n* 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice\n* 2 tsp kosher salt\n* 1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper\n* 1 large seedless watermelon, balled or cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces and chilled\n* 1/2 pound crumbled feta cheese\n* 1 cup coarsely chopped mint leaves\n* 15 mL high-CBD cannabis tincture \n\n#### How to Make Cannabis-Infused Watermelon Feta Salad\n\n1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, cannabis tincture, lemon juice, kosher salt and pepper; mix thoroughly to make your dressing. \n2. Toss the watermelon, crumbled feta and mint into the dressing mixture. \n\nRELATED: [CANNABIS INFUSED THIN MINT COOKIES](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/5b47dbc38904b90007731ae4/diy-recipe-cannabis-infused-thin-mint-cookies) \n\n### Marijuana-Infused Elote (Mexican Street Corn)\n\nIf you’ve never had elote before, you may never go back to plain corn on the cob again. And don’t worry; if you don’t have access to a grill, you can always use a stovetop grill pan or even roast the elote in the oven. And you can opt to boil the corn instead of grilling or roasting, if you prefer. \n\n#### Ingredients for Marijuana-Infused Elote\n\n* 4 corncobs, shucked \n* 1/4 cup mayonnaise\n* 1/4 cup sour cream\n* 1/2 cup crumbled Cotija cheese \n* 1/2 tsp ancho chili powder\n* 1 tsp garlic clove, minced\n* 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped\n* 1 lime, wedged \n* 15 mL hybrid cannabis tincture\n\n#### How to Make Marijuana-Infused Elote \n\n1. Warm a propane grill on high for 5 minutes or heat your charcoal grill and top it with a well-greased grill grate. \n2. While the grill’s heating, use a medium mixing bowl to combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, Cotija cheese, cilantro, garlic and chili powder. \n3. Once the grill is nice and hot, place the shucked corncobs directly onto the grill grate. 4. Turn the corncobs occasionally until they’re cooked through and have blackened grill marks on all sides. \n5. Once the corncobs are cooked, remove them from the heat and place into the mixing bowl. \n6. Spin the corn with one hand and, using a spoon in the other, spoon the mayonnaise mixture over the corn to evenly coat. \n7. Right before serving, top the corncobs with extra Cotija cheese, chili powder and cilantro. \n\n### Southern Cucumber Salad Infused With Cannabis Oil\n\nMuch like the watermelon feta salad, this is an incredibly easy and healthy side dish. If you prefer peeled cucumbers, do that step before slicing.\n\n#### Ingredients for Southern Cucumber Salad Infused With Cannabis Oil\n\n* 4 English cucumbers, sliced\n* 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar\n* 1 tbsp olive oil\n* 2 tsp granulated sugar\n* 1 tsp kosher salt\n* 1 tsp freshly ground pepper\n* 2 tbsp chives, finely chopped\n* 1 tsp red pepper flakes \n* 15 mL cannabis tincture of your choice\n\n#### How to Make Southern Cucumber Salad Infused With Cannabis Oil\n\n1. Once you’ve got your cucumbers sliced how you like them, in a large mixing bowl, combine all other ingredients together. \n2. Toss in the cucumbers and let chill for 20 minutes before serving. \n\nPhoto credit: [Eric Nopanen](https://unsplash.com/@rexcuandot) \n\n\nIf you’re new to cannabis and want to learn more, take a look at our [Cannabis 101](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/56201c206430320006bb0000/cannabis-101-your-quick-guide-to-medical-marijuana) post. So, what do you do when you want a sweet dessert, but don’t want to melt while you’re making it? \n\nWe’ve got three easy, tasty, healthy marijuana-infused desserts that don’t require an oven. And they all feature bananas. Bananas are a powerhouse ingredient; they’re:\n\n* Full of potassium, which helps maintain low blood pressure, and strengthens bones and muscles \n* High in fiber, which is important for keeping you regular and balancing blood sugar levels \n* A good source of vitamin C, which is integral for a healthy immune system and can fight off free radicals \n\nBesides bananas, we’ve also added cannabis to the mix. We’ve gone for cannabis tinctures in these recipes because they’re easy to add, simple to dose, and work well with the other ingredients. Feel free to use any marijuana tincture you like, whether it be a cannabidiol (CBD) tincture to fight inflammation after a long day, or a high-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) oil to help you fall asleep after dinner.\n\nThe recipes below include a general cannabis dose per person, but feel free to customize the dosage according to your tolerance, desired effects or preferences your guests, if you’ll be serving these desserts to family and friends. \n\nFOLLOW US ON [FACEBOOK](https://www.facebook.com/pg/hellomdcompany/posts/) & [INSTAGRAM](https://www.instagram.com/hellomd_com/?hl=en)\n\n### 1. Cannabis-Infused, Chocolate-Covered Frozen Bananas\n\nSometimes you just want a nice, sweet milk chocolate, and we get that. But if you go for dark chocolate—70% or higher—you’ll get additional health benefits like antioxidants and flavonols that can do everything, from helping your skin glow to lowering your blood pressure. \n\nServes 4\n\n#### Ingredients for Cannabis-Infused, Chocolate-Covered Frozen Bananas\n\n* 4 bananas\n* 6 oz chocolate of your choice\n* 20 mL cannabis tincture\n* Optional toppings (nuts, granola, sprinkles, jam)\n\n#### How to Make Cannabis-Infused, Chocolate-Covered Frozen Bananas\n\n1. Peel bananas and freeze for at least 2 hours.\n2. Melt chocolate in a double broiler or in the microwave, until smooth with no lumps.\n3. Stir cannabis tincture into the melted chocolate.\n4. Dip bananas in chocolate mixture half way and hold over bowl to catch drips.\n5. Sprinkle with toppings, if using.\n6. Place chocolate-covered bananas on a parchment paper lined tray or plate in fridge, until chocolate hardens. These will keep in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.\n\n### 2. Sautéed Bananas With Peanut Butter-Cannabis Drizzle\n\nThis easy recipe requires a little bit of heat, but no oven. By caramelizing the bananas in some coconut oil, the sweetness of the fruit really comes through. \n\nDid you know that the cannabinoids in marijuana are fat soluble? This means you should eat fat along with your marijuana to make cannabinoids better available for your body to use—that’s where the coconut oil and peanut butter come in. \n\nConsider this dessert for your next dinner party. You’ll look like a pro, and your guests will never know just how simple the recipe really is. \n\nRELATED: [WHY YOU NEED TO EAT FAT WITH YOUR CANNABIS](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/5b4fbaf58904b90007731b33/why-you-need-to-eat-fat-with-your-cannabis)\n\nServes 4\n\n#### Ingredients for Sautéed Bananas With Peanut Butter-Cannabis Drizzle\n\n* 4 bananas (you can also use ripe plantains for a twist)\n* 2 tsp coconut oil\n* 8 tbsp peanut butter (or any other kind of nut butter), at room temperature\n* 20 mL cannabis tincture\n* Sea salt and cinnamon to garnish\n\n#### How to Make Sautéed Bananas With Peanut Butter-Cannabis Drizzle\n\n1. Peel bananas and slice in half length-wise.\n2. Heat coconut oil in a pan over medium heat.\n3. Add bananas to the pan, cut-side down. Depending on the size of your pan, you may need to work in batches. \n4. After a few minutes, when the cut side turns golden-brown, flip the bananas to sauté the other side. Add more coconut oil if needed.\n5. While the bananas are cooking, measure out peanut butter into a bowl and add the cannabis tincture; stir until smooth.\n6. When the bananas reach your desired golden color, transfer to a plate and let cool a bit. You don’t want the bananas to cool down completely, but if they’re too hot the peanut butter will slide right off of them.\n7. Use a small spoon or knife to drizzle the peanut butter on top of the sliced bananas. \n8. Garnish with cinnamon and sea salt to your liking. \n\n### 3. Banana Split With Cannabis-Infused Chocolate Avocado Ice Cream \n\nBanana splits are an all-American favorite. But why not make one with a healthy avocado-based ice cream and a cannabis tincture, to really up the health factor? I don’t know about you, but when I’m feeling nostalgic for my childhood days, I think about those foods from my past that I haven’t had for a while.\n\nThis recipe is for when you feel like enjoying an adult version of a childhood classic: Girl Scout Thin Mints. Except now, we’re old enough to infuse these cookies with some top-shelf cannabis. \n\nFOLLOW US ON [FACEBOOK](https://www.facebook.com/pg/hellomdcompany/posts/) & [INSTAGRAM](https://www.instagram.com/hellomd_com/?hl=en) \n\n### Ingredients for Cannabis-Infused Thin Mints:\n\n* 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour\n* 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder\n* 1/4 tsp salt\n* 1/2 cup butter, softened\n* 1/4 cup butter, chopped \n* 1 cup white, granulated sugar\n* 1 egg\n* 1/2 tsp mint extract\n* 1 1/2 oz of a marijuana-infused milk or dark chocolate bar\n* 1 1/2 oz non-infused semisweet chocolate, chopped\n\nIf you don’t have access to a pre-made marijuana-infused chocolate bar, you can whip up a batch of cannabutter to use in the recipe instead. Or, you can simply add a cannabis tincture of your choice to non-medicated melted chocolate. This scrumptious recipe will make 18 cookies, so if you’re using your own cannabis, be aware of how much you add to the recipe so that each cookie is the right dose for you. \n\nRELATED: [DIY RECIPE: CANNABUTTER, OR CANNABIS BUTTER](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/56b27915fe98a1000c000243/diy-recipe-cannabutter-or-cannabis-butter) \n\n### How to Make Cannabis-Infused Thin Mints: \n\n1. In a large mixing bowl, beat 1/2 cup of softened butter until creamy.\n2. Add 1 cup of sugar. \n3. Continue to beat the butter and sugar mixture until completely combined.\n4. Add the egg and mint extract, and stir until creamed.\n5. Using a sifter, sift the flour, cocoa powder and salt into a separate mixing bowl. \n6. Slowly add the sifted dry goods to the creamed mixture until completely smooth. It may get difficult to beat as you add more flour, but that’s the right consistency for dough. \n7. Divide the dough in half, and on a lightly floured surface, roll each half of the dough into 1 1/2 inch-thick snakes. \n8. Wrap each of these dough snakes in wax paper, let them sit in the fridge for 4 1/2 hours and then finish them off in the freezer for 30 minutes. \n9. When you’re ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and remove the dough from the freezer. \n10. Remove the wax paper and use a very sharp knife to slice the snakes into 1/4-inch pieces. You should be able to slice these without the dough giving in. \n11. Place the pieces about 1 1/2 inches apart on a cookie sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes. Let the cookies cool completely before glazing.\n12. For the medicated chocolate glaze, melt the cannabis-infused chocolate, regular butter and the non-infused semisweet chopped chocolate in a double boiler. \n13. When the chocolate is melted, place a cookie in the center of the bowl and use a spoon to completely cover the cookie with melted chocolate. \n14. Scoop the covered cookie up with a fork and place it on a large sheet of wax paper. Repeat this process for all cookies and then let them harden completely before removing them from the wax paper. \n\nNow you’re ready to enjoy this adult version of a childhood classic.\n\nPhoto credit: [Katie](https://www.flickr.com/people/61192399@N04/)\n\nIf you’re new to cannabis and want to learn more, take a look at our [Cannabis 101](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/56201c206430320006bb0000/cannabis-101-your-quick-guide-to-medical-marijuana) post. And when the weather’s warm, there’s one comfort food on everyone’s mind: ice cream. Many of us have childhood memories of running out to the ice cream truck after hearing its siren song or stopping at the ice cream shop on a hot day. \n\nThis cool, creamy and refreshing treat feels just right on a hot summer’s day—but it isn’t always the healthiest option. The more we learn about healthy eating, the more people are cutting ice cream’s main ingredients—namely dairy and sugar—completely out of their diet. While turning down ice cream will probably improve your health and give you more energy to tackle your summer plans, on the flipside it can also leave a sad void in your summer fun.\n\nIf you’ve cut ice cream out of your diet, don’t worry. We have a dairy alternative: avocados. \n\nFOLLOW US ON [FACEBOOK](https://www.facebook.com/pg/hellomdcompany/posts/) & [INSTAGRAM](https://www.instagram.com/hellomd_com/?hl=en)\n\n### Why Do Avocados Make a Good Ice Cream Base? \n\nAvocado ice cream might not sound good at first, but avocados actually make the perfect healthy base for an alternative ice cream. They’re full of healthy fats, which gives them a smooth and creamy texture that’s very similar to ice cream. They also have a mild flavor, which is easy to cover with rich and decadent chocolate. Add some honey, vanilla and salt, and you won’t even remember the avocados. \n\nThis marijuana-infused, avocado-based ice cream is an incredibly rich, creamy and delicious option. It’s also something that can be enjoyed by those on diets that are:\n\n* Gluten free\n* Dairy free\n* Egg free\n* Nut free\n* Paleo friendly\n* Autoimmune safe\n* Vegan (if you swap out the honey for a sweetener of your choice; agave nectar is a good option) \n\nWhile it isn’t traditional ice cream, it sure tastes like it is, making it hard to distinguish from a rich and creamy chocolate ice cream. You might even find that you prefer this lighter version. It’s so tasty, you’ll have to keep reminding yourself that you aren’t cheating on your diet. And with cannabis mixed right in, you can medicate while you enjoy this decadent summer dessert. Before you know it, you’ll be reliving your favorite summertime ice cream memories, and you won’t even have to worry about the stomachache afterwards. \n\nTry it out today and see how healthy—and tasty—your summer can be. \n\nRELATED: [DIY RECIPE: CANNABIS-INFUSED WATERMELON, MINT & LIME POPSICLES](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/598ce6b0db921e0510e08ca3/diy-recipe-cannabis-infused-watermelon-mint-and-lime-popsicles)\n\n### Ingredients for Cannabis-Infused Chocolate Avocado Ice Cream\n\n* 15 mL of oil-based cannabis tincture of your choice\n* 3 large avocados \n* 1 1/2 cups of coconut milk \n* 3/4 cup cocoa \n* 4 tbsp of honey or a sweetener of your choice\n* 1 tsp of vanilla\n* 1/2 tsp of salt \n\n### How to Make Cannabis-Infused Chocolate Avocado Ice Cream\n\n1. Using a cutting board and knife, peel your avocados and cut them up into small chunks. \n2. Add avocados and the rest of your ingredients to a blender. \n3. Blend ingredients together until the mixture is completely smooth. \n4. Using a spatula, pour the avocado mixture into a sealable glass container. \n5. Seal the container and place in the freezer. Set a timer for 4 hours. \n6. After the first hour, check on your ice cream and whisk it with a fork. \n7. For the remaining 3 hours, check on your ice cream every 20 minutes. Each time, whisk it with a fork so that it will freeze evenly. \n8. After the 4 hours are up, your ice cream will be ready to eat. Let sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes, then scoop with an ice-cream scoop to serve. \n9. If you’re not eating it right away, your avocado ice cream can stay in the freezer until you’re ready for it. Just make sure to eat it within two weeks for freshness. \n\nIf you’re new to cannabis and want to learn more, take a look at our [Cannabis 101]( https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/56201c206430320006bb0000/cannabis-101-your-quick-guide-to-medical-marijuana) post.
