CBD can help your dog by: \n\n- Easing anxiety\n- Alleviating pain\n- Quelling gastrointestinal distress \n- Reducing seizures\n\nGiven all of these benefits, it’s no surprise that there are a ton of CBD dog treats on the market—all with various ingredients and different doses. \n\nBut have you ever thought about making your own CBD-infused dog treats? It may sound silly—even a little frivolous—but it is actually simple, easy, and, most importantly, practical. \n\nWhen you make your own CBD-infused dog treats, you get to control the amount of CBD that goes into each batch. This allows you to cater your CBD dog treats specifically to your pup’s needs. And as an added bonus, you get to:\n\n- Pick your pet’s favorite flavors\n- Avoid ingredients that don’t sit well with their bellies\n- Maybe even save a few bucks \n\n![Hello1-min (41).png](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Hello1_min_41_2ac1f0f47b.png)\n\nHaving CBD dog treats on hand is also convenient. You can take them with you on outings with your K9 and administer them as the situation calls. \n\nThis recipe for CBD dog treats contains only five ingredients, including a hemp CBD tincture. You can use a tincture that’s marketed specifically for dogs, like [Holistic Hound’s tinctures](https://holistichound.com/), which come in 100 mg, 250 mg, and 500 mg concentrations. Or you can opt for a plain, flavorless tincture like [Cured Nutrition’s Full Spectrum Raw Oil](https://www.curednutrition.com/product/raw-daily-hemp-oil/). \n\nWhatever you decide to use in your CBD-infused dog treats, make sure to double-check that the tincture has been lab-tested for potency as well as the presence of pesticides and heavy metals. You’ll also want to ensure that the tincture doesn’t have any added essential oils, which could potentially be harmful to your pup.\n\nLastly, feel free to use any type of flour you’d like in your CBD-infused dog treats. Wheat or other grains don’t sit well with some dogs. If this is the case, opt for alternative flours like rice, almond, or coconut flour. \n\n![Hello3-min (33).png](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Hello3_min_33_954cfa1b62.png)\n\n### Ingredients for Peanut Butter & Pumpkin CBD Dog Treats\n\n- 3 cups of flour of your choice\n- 2 large eggs\n- 2/3 cup pumpkin puree\n- 1/4 cup peanut butter\n- hemp CBD tincture (amount you use is up to you)\n\nHere are a few things to consider: \n\n- The number of CBD-infused dog treats that this recipe makes depends on how you decide to divide up the dough.\n\n- Think about how much CBD you want in each dog treat. \n\nUse these two factors to determine how much of your hemp CBD tincture to use. For example, if you think you can make 36 CBD dog treats, and you want each treat to contain 2 mg of CBD, use about 72 mg of CBD for your recipe. \n\n![Hello2-min (39).png](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Hello2_min_39_f4932b35f5.png)\n\n### How to Make Peanut Butter & Pumpkin CBD Dog Treats\n\n- 1.) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet or line one with parchment paper. \n- 2.) Using a whisk or electric mixer, beat pumpkin puree, peanut butter, eggs, and hemp CBD oil until well combined. It’s important that you mix these ingredients well, as you want the CBD oil to be well dispersed. \n- 3.) Gradually add in 2 1/2 cups of flour, mixing until all ingredients are well incorporated. \n- 4.) If dough is still sticky, slowly add more flour in 1/4 cup increments until the dough loses its stickiness. \n- 5.) Using a lightly floured surface, knead the dough until it comes together. \n- 6.) Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough—we recommend getting it to about a 1/4 inch thickness. Use cookie cutters or a shot glass to cut out shapes and place them onto your prepared baking sheet. \n- 7.) Bake in the oven until golden brown, about 20 minutes. \n- 8.) Let treats cool completely before serving. These CBD dog treats will keep at room temperature for a few days, but you can store them in the fridge to extend their shelf life.\n\n### Get a Medical Marijuana Card Online\n\nIt's easy to get your medical marijuana document with the online [Telehealth service HelloMD](https://www.hellomd.com/get-started/). The whole recipe uses just one pot, making cleaning up a breeze. Plus, it’s a snap to make. It only takes around 30 minutes to create, from start to finish. \n\nIf you want to get creative with it, you can add all kind of additions. The soup goes perfectly in a bread bowl, or you can cut bread into cubes and use them for dipping. Some like to add carrots to their broccoli Cheddar soup, so feel free to chop some up and throw them in when you add the broccoli. Or would you rather add some meat protein to the mix? Bacon is a fantastic addition to throw in at the very end. \n\nWhat are you waiting for? Use your best judgment on dosing based on your previous experiences with edibles. If you have a lower tolerance to cannabis and want to make a less potent soup, you can always substitute plain butter for part of the cannabutter. \n\n#### Cooking Tools:\n\n* Large or medium cooking pot\n* Mixing spatula or spoon \n* Measuring cups and spoons\n\n### How to Make Cannabis-Infused Broccoli Cheddar Soup \n\n1. Before you begin, it’s always a good idea to make sure you have all of your ingredients and cooking tools at the ready and out on a clean surface. \n\n2. Put a medium or large cooking pot on the stove, and turn on low heat. Add the cannabutter, and let it melt (watching carefully to make sure it doesn’t start to burn or brown). \n\n3. Once melted, mix in the garlic and flour, and turn the heat up slightly. Watch for about a minute as the flour lightly browns and makes the mixture a light brown color. \n\n4. Add the chicken broth to the pot, turning the heat on high and stirring every few minutes to ensure even heating. Let the broth heat to a low boil. \n\n5. Once the broth is bubbling at a low boil, mix in the frozen broccoli and the milk. (This is also when you’d want to add in carrots if you’re using them.) Let the mixture come back up to a simmer, and then adjust the heat to keep it simmering. Continue simmering until the broccoli is cooked through and soft. You should be able to break the broccoli apart very easily with your spoon or spatula when it’s finished cooking. \n\n6. When the broccoli has finished cooking and is soft enough to break apart with your spoon or spatula, remove it from the heat and mix in all but half a cup of the cheese. Set the other half cup of cheese aside. \n\n7. Season your soup with salt and pepper to taste. The cheese already includes plenty of salt, so I just add pepper. But if you like your soup a bit more seasoned, you may want more. At this stage, you can also mix in bacon, if you’re including it.\n\n8. Serve immediately in a bowl or bread bowl, adding a touch of pepper and some of the remaining shredded cheese as a garnish on top of each bowl.\n\nPhoto credit: Brent Hofacker/Shutterstock.com\n\nIf you’re new to cannabis and want to learn more, take a look at our [Cannabis 101](https://hellomd.com/articles/cannabis-101-what-you-need-to-know-about-marijuana/) index of articles. I know what you want to ask, and no, this granola won’t make you feel high—we have other medicinal goals in mind.\n\nLet me explain: This granola has the right amount of fat and carbs to give you enough energy to sustain you during your workout. It also has protein from hemp seeds to help build and maintain those strong muscles you’ve been working so hard on.\n\nThere are a few things that make this granola unique and healthy. I used ghee (which is clarified butter) instead of butter for a great, healthier alternative. And using the smoked sea salt instead of your normal sea salt adds another level of delicious flavor. \n\nUsing these two ingredients may be pretty adventurous for some eaters. However, this granola also contains the right amount of sweetness for any palette, by using maple syrup. Between the maple syrup and the smokiness from sea salt, this granola really delivers a tasty, sweet and savory experience. \n\n### These Granola Ingredients Pack a Healthy Punch \n\nThe hemp seeds in this recipe will not only provide you with protein, but they’ll also strike a good balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. \n\nIf you’re lacking fiber in your diet, the oats will definitely help you there, and it will also provide additional protein.\n\nI decided to add chia seeds to this recipe, because they contain healthful ingredients like:\n\n* Antioxidants\n* Protein\n* Vitamins A, B, E and D\n* Calcium\n* Potassium \n\nOne of my favorite chia seed benefits is their [ability to help maintain hydration](http://www.fleetfeetstlouis.com/news/chia-seeds), which is especially important during workouts or other strenuous activities.\n\nRELATED: [HOW CBD CAN HELP RELIEVE SORE MUSCLES](https://hellomd.com/articles/how-cbd-can-help-relieve-sore-muscles/)\n\nIf you’re convinced about trying this hemp CBD granola, but don’t want to eat it on its own, good news: There are so many ways to enjoy it. Consider having it as a topping on your favorite breakfast meal like:\n\n* Oatmeal\n* Yogurt\n* Quinoa cereal \n* Over some high-fiber fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, blackberries or raspberries\n\nAlthough I used a nonflavored CBD oil for this recipe, I urge you to get creative and try using other flavors of this superfood ingredient. You could go for something like a [lemon ginger or peppermint flavored CBD oil](https://www.hellolift.com/products/5bb54c9d15dd42feefa0a3eb/flavored-cbd-drops) for a twist. \n\nIf you’re looking for a gluten-free, soy-free and nut-free granola, this recipe has you covered. \n\nThis granola can also work well for people keeping their diet free of dairy, too, because ghee, contains no lactose or milk solids. But if you prefer something different, you can easily substitute the ghee with coconut oil. \n\n### Ingredients for Crunchy & Delicious Hemp CBD Granola \n\n8–10 servings\n\n* 4 cups gluten-free oats\n* 2 cups coconut flakes\n* 1 cup hemp seeds\n* 1/2 cup chia seeds\n* 3/4 cup coconut sugar\n* 1/2 cup maple syrup\n* 2 tbsp ghee (which is clarified butter)\n* 8 ml CBD oil\n* 1 tsp vanilla\n* 2 tsp cinnamon\n* 1/2 tsp nutmeg\n* Pinch of smoked sea salt to taste\n\n### How to Make Crunchy & Delicious Hemp CBD Granola \n\n1.\tPreheat oven to 325 degrees F.\n2.\tPlace all dry ingredients except the coconut sugar in a large bowl, and mix until uniform.\n3.\tIn a small saucepan, over low- to medium-heat, melt the ghee, add the maple syrup, coconut sugar, vanilla extract and CBD oil, and simmer for 2–3 minutes.\n4.\tPour the pan of liquid ingredients over the dry mixture and stir to coat evenly. Spread granola out evenly onto two parchment-lined baking pans. These methods of consuming CBD are great, but let’s not forget about edibles—especially CBD gummies.  \n\nCBD gummies are an easy way to take your medicine, and you can make them at home. When you opt to make your own CBD gummies, you get to choose the amount of CBD each gummy contains—this way you can cater each dose to meet your individual needs. \n\nFOLLOW US ON [FACEBOOK](https://www.facebook.com/pg/hellomdcompany/posts/) & [INSTAGRAM](https://www.instagram.com/hellomd_us/?utm_medium=copy_link/)\n\nMaking CBD gummies allows you to portion your CBD ahead of time, so you can just pop a CBD gummy into your mouth whenever—and wherever you are. CBD gummies are perfect for those of us looking for a quick and tasty way to consume CBD. Plus, CBD gummies are easy to share with friends.\n\nIf you’ve never made gummies before, never fear; we’ve got your back. Whipping up your own CBD gummies can sound intimidating, but the process is simple if you use a [CBD tincture](https://www.hellolift.com/products?category=Tinctures). \n\nThese days, CBD tinctures come in a variety of flavors, so when choosing one, make sure that it complements the flavors of your other ingredients. Alternatively, many companies also make [unflavored CBD tinctures]( https://hellomd.com/articles/diy-recipe-high-cbd-cannabis-tincture/) that you can add to your CBD gummies without affecting their taste. \n\nIf you want CBD gummies in fun shapes and sizes, you can invest in some silicone molds. These come in a variety of forms, including the classic gummy bear. But you can also use a simple cake or loaf pan and cut your CBD gummies into bite-sized squares.  \n\nStore-bought gummies are typically full of sugars, dyes and artificial flavors. But when you make your own CBD gummies at home, you can make them healthier by adding vitamins, probiotics and other supplements. \n\nRELATED: [DIY RECIPE: HEMP CBD BLUEBERRY BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE](https://hellomd.com/articles/diy-recipe-hemp-cbd-blueberry-breakfast-smoothie/)\n\n### Ingredients for CBD Gummies\n\n* 1 1/2 cups juice or liquid of your choice\n* 4 tbsp grass-fed gelatin \n* 2–4 tbsp honey or other sweetener of your choice\n* hemp CBD tincture (amount you use is up to you) \n\nThis recipe makes approximately 50 gummy bear-sized gummies. To figure out how much of your hemp CBD tincture to use, think about how much CBD you want in each gummy. For example, if you want 2 mg of CBD per gummy, you would use 100 mg of CBD for your recipe. \n\n### How to Make CBD Gummies \n\n1. Pour liquid into a small- or medium-sized saucepan. \n2. Sprinkle the gelatin on top, and let it sit for a few minutes, until it has been absorbed into the liquid. Once this has happened, mix well. \n3. Place the saucepan on medium heat, and allow the grainy liquid to warm—but don’t let it boil. Keep the liquid on the heat until all of the gelatin dissolves and the mixture becomes runny. \n4. Add your sweetener, and stir well.\n5. Add the CBD tincture, and stir well. If you’re using molds, you can opt to add your CBD to each individual mold. This will give each CBD gummy a more accurate dose. \n6. Pour liquid into your pan or molds. You can pour the liquid into a measuring cup or use a dropper to make filling your molds easier. \n7. Refrigerate for 2–3 hours, until liquid has set. \n8. Remove gummies from molds or cut them into squares if using a pan. \n9. Keep your CBD gummies in an airtight container, and consume them within two weeks. \n\n### Healthy Tips for Your CBD Gummy Recipe \n\nThis CBD gummy recipe calls for you to use liquid and gelatin. And while you can use any version of these two ingredients, here are a few healthy options to consider. \n\nFor a liquid, green juice or another kind of fruit and vegetable juice can add a nutritious boost. If you’d like to add probiotics to your gummies, you can use kombucha as a liquid base for your CBD gummies. Also consider adding any other supplements that dissolve well in water, like spirulina. \n\nAs for the various types of gelatin, not all are created equal. Grass-fed gelatin tends to be more nutrient dense than other types of gelatins on the market. Additionally, grass-fed gelatin is filled with the same nutrients, minerals and protein that make bone broth beneficial.\n\nPhoto credit: Anton stock/Shutterstock.com\n\nWant to try CBD, but don’t know where to start? What better way to ease into the colder months of the year than with a drink that’s warm, relaxing and full of rich chocolatey goodness? That’s right. I’m talking about that cold temperature classic, hot chocolate. \n\nWhen I think of wintertime drinks from my childhood, hot chocolate is one of my favorites. One sip, and I’m back in those happy days, drinking hot chocolate by the fire during holiday parties with family or after coming inside from playing in the snow. \n\nFOLLOW US ON [FACEBOOK](https://www.facebook.com/pg/hellomdcompany/posts/) & [INSTAGRAM](https://www.instagram.com/hellomd_us/?utm_medium=copy_link/)\n\nWhile this recipe may leave you feeling nostalgic for winters of the past, it takes a more sophisticated, gourmet approach than the powdered Swiss Miss powdered packets mixed with water that many of us enjoyed growing up. With rich cream, real dark chocolate and notes of vanilla, maple and cinnamon, this hot chocolate is rich and flavorful, but still a breeze to make. \n\nAnd of course, who can forget the star of the dish: cannabis. In this recipe I infuse cannabis concentrate directly into the cream used for each individual cup of hot chocolate. The process is simple and makes it easy to medicate each mug according to everyone’s particular needs. \n\nRELATED: [WHY YOU NEED TO EAT FAT WITH YOUR CANNABIS](https://hellomd.com/articles/why-you-need-to-eat-fat-with-your-cannabis/)\n\nWhether you’re making a special treat for yourself or having marijuana-friendly guests over for winter gatherings or festivities, this marijuana-infused drink is the perfect pairing with the cold weather. \n\n### Ingredients for Cannabis-Infused, Cinnamon-Vanilla Hot Chocolate\n\nServes 1\n\n* 1 drop of cannabis concentrate from a [Dablicator](https://www.hellomd.com/products?category=Concentrates)\n* 1 tbsp dark cocoa powder\n* 1 tbsp dark chocolate chips \n* 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream\n* 1/2  tbsp of maple syrup (or a sweetener of your choice; adjust according to your taste)\n* 1/2 cup of water \n* Pinch of salt\n* Pinch of cinnamon \n* 1/2 tsp of vanilla \n* Whipped cream (optional)\n\nThe easiest way to infuse this recipe is using cannabis concentrate from a dablicator, because it’s an easy and mess-free way to medicate the hot chocolate precisely. If you don’t have a dablicator, you can use a dab of any full-melt cannabis concentrate in the recipe.\n\nEither way, it’s best to start with one drop or just a small dab of cannabis concentrate. Once you see how that dose affects you, if desired you may opt to increase the dose to better fit your needs.  \n\nIf you don’t have cannabis concentrates or aren’t interested in consuming marijuana that way, you can substitute with 1 mL of the cannabis tincture of your choice. \n\n![Cannabis-infused, cinnamon-vanilla hot chocolate](https://hellomd-development.s3.amazonaws.com/markdown-image-injector-4596fadc-3e98-4a72-a4f1-7dc661921472/original.png)\n\n### How to Make Cannabis-Infused, Cinnamon-Vanilla Hot Chocolate\n\n1. If you’re using a cannabis concentrate, place it in a small saucepan and heat on low for a few seconds. Remove from heat if there are any signs of vaporization (such as simmering) or if you can smell a more fragrant odor coming from the concentrate. Don’t let it go too long on the heat or you’ll lose medicinal components of the plant to the air. This step decarboxylates your cannabis concentrate, so that the tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is active. Skip this step if you’re using a cannabis tincture. \n\nRELATED: [DECARBOXYLATING MARIJUANA: WHY IT’S IMPORTANT](https://hellomd.com/articles/decarboxylating-marijuana-why-its-important/)\n\n2. Add your cream to the saucepan and return to heat. Stir the mixture continually with a spatula as you heat the cream to a simmer. \n\n3. Once your cream is simmering, add the cocoa powder and the chocolate chips. Stir continuously until the chocolate is completely melted and mixed with the cream. During this process, make sure to scrape any chocolate mixture from the bottom of the saucepan to avoid it burning. \n\n4. Add the water, vanilla, cinnamon, salt and maple syrup. Stir thoroughly until it’s well incorporated and the entire mixture is homogeneous with a consistent color and texture. If you’re infusing the hot chocolate with a cannabis tincture, here’s where you stir it in. \n\n5. Pour the hot chocolate into a mug and top with whipped cream. \n\nIf you’re new to cannabis and want to learn more, take a look at our [Cannabis 101](https://hellomd.com/articles/cannabis-101-what-you-need-to-know-about-marijuana/) index of articles. It contains:\n\n* Tons of calcium from the kale\n* High amounts of protein and a good balance of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids from the hemp seeds  \n\nButternut squash itself is equipped with so many nourishing ingredients including, just to name a few:\n\n* Vitamin A\n* Vitamin C\n* Vitamin B6\n* Magnesium\n* Manganese\n* Potassium\n* Calcium \n\nAlthough butternut squash and kale are super foods in their own right, I’m even more fascinated with the benefits of CBD oil and all of its incredible health attributes. And CBD properly extracted from responsibly grown hemp plants has many health benefits such as: \n\n* Powerful anti-inflammatory properties that regulate muscle pain\n* Improved brain health\n* Support for your body’s stress responses\n* Cancer-fighting properties \n\nThe list continues to grow and evolve as we learn more about CBD and build the appropriate data to help us understand this therapeutic compound.  \n\nWe all have our own particular ailments that we’re suffering from, and CBD may be able to help with many of them. With the industry becoming more saturated with this amazing product, you want to make sure you’re buying a safe, effective and high-quality CBD oil from a company you can trust. \n\nAs a cancer survivor, it’s extremely important that I consume and recommend only the highest- quality CBD products on the market. Always make sure your CBD oil comes from hemp grown in the U.S. or Europe and that the company lab tests all of its products. \n\nRELATED: [WHAT TO WATCH FOR WHEN BUYING HEMP CBD OIL](https://hellomd.com/articles/what-to-watch-out-for-when-buying-hemp-cbd-oil/)\n\n### Ingredients for CBD-Infused Curried Butternut Squash Soup \n\nRecipe Serves: 6–8\n\n* 3 15-oz. cans of butternut squash (you can also use fresh squash if you prefer)\n* 1 tbsp olive oil \n* 1/2 large sweet onion, medium diced\n* 1 garlic clove, minced\n* 1 15-oz can coconut milk (or your choice of dairy milk) \n* 2 cups vegetable broth \n* 2 tbsp maple syrup or agave nectar (or honey if not vegan)\n* 1 tbsp curry powder\n* 1 tsp cinnamon \n* 1 tsp nutmeg \n* 1/4 tsp cardamon\n* 6 mL hemp-derived CBD oil of your choice\n* Salt and pepper to taste \n\n#### Sautéed Kale Hemp Seed Topping (optional)\n\n* 1/2 cup roughly chopped kale, washed and dried)\n* 1 clove garlic, minced\n* 3 tbsp hemp seeds\n* 1 tbsp coconut oil (or olive oil)\n* Salt and pepper to taste \n\n### How to Make CBD-Infused Curried Butternut Squash Soup  \n\n1. In short, the midpoint of a Whole30 can be rough. \n\nFOLLOW US ON [FACEBOOK](https://www.facebook.com/pg/hellomdcompany/posts/) & [INSTAGRAM](https://www.instagram.com/hellomd_us/?utm_medium=copy_link/)\n \n[Certified Whole30 coach Todd Shipman](https://www.instagram.com/biohackertodd/?hl=en) agrees and wants you to know you’re not alone. “This part of Whole30 is well known as the ‘darkest days’ where most people drop off and go back to their past way of eating,” he says. \n\n“We may be expecting to see or experience major shifts, which just haven’t made their presence known yet. It takes longer than just a few weeks to reverse a lifetime of eating the standard American diet,” Todd advises.\n\n\nThis recipe for chicken fingers frankly saved my second Whole30. My husband begrudgingly joined me for this one, and he experienced the midmonth lull—hard. He was really close to giving up when I made these chicken fingers along with a side of veggies and baked sweet potatoes one night for dinner.\n\nHe wolfed down the entire plate and said, “If more meals are like this, I think I’ll be OK.” He made it to the end of the month and lost about 25 pounds in the process. This recipe stayed in my regular rotation, and I still make it all the time—Whole30 or not. \n\n### Is Medical Marijuana Whole30 Compliant? \n\nFor those medical marijuana consumers who’ve embarked on a Whole30 or are thinking of doing so, you can complete the program without having to give up your medicine. Whole30 founder Melissa Hartwig writes that the organization’s official stance is: [Marijuana’s OK strictly for medicinal purposes](https://www.facebook.com/Whole30/posts/melissa-here-ive-read-two-articles-today-on-how-to-stay-whole30-compliant-withou/1711955115548066/). \n\nShe says if a doctor has prescribed you cannabis, that trumps Whole30 rules. And even if you haven’t gone so far as to get a formal medical diagnosis, if you take marijuana to treat crippling insomnia, pain from fibromyalgia or debilitating migraines, as long as it’s therapeutic and used responsibly, it’s acceptable within the Whole30 framework. \n\nBut you may be wondering how to consume cannabis and not give into the munchies, which can be a side effect of marijuana consumption for some. \n\nThe first tip would be to find a product such as [Level’s Stimulate Tablinguals](https://www.hellomd.com/products/5bb261798e6e664a97171759/stimulate-tablinguals) or cannabis strain like [Durban Poison](https://www.hellomd.com/strains/5a7cb16cd520d60009f4f4a3/durban-poison) that doesn’t tend to stimulate your appetite. The cannabinoid tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV)—found in both of these things—has been shown to reduce appetite.\n\nRELATED: [PSYCHOACTIVE THCV: THE CANNABINOID THAT KILLS YOUR APPETITE](https://hellomd.com/articles/psychoactive-thcv-the-cannabinoid-that-kills-your-appetite/)\n\nBut Todd has lots of great practical tips to keep your medical marijuana from derailing your Whole30: “Set yourself up for success. Keep the noncompliant stuff out of easy reach or out of your kitchen entirely. If it’s not there, it’s not an option. Be aware of your behavior and cravings that normally would come up, and plan ahead. My personal choice is a sliced-up bell pepper with guacamole, as I crave crunchy stuff.” \n\nIn general, Todd is a big believer in putting your Whole30 goals down on paper—even at the midway point—so you remember why you wanted to do a Whole30 in the first place. “Why did you decide to do this? What’s your motivation to stay committed? If you don’t have one, make one right this instant, because it’s what will keep your head above water when things get flooded,” Todd suggests. “Improved health, feeling better, increased energy, joint mobility, quality sleep, better digestion and family reasons are great starts for your why.”\n\n### Ingredients for Whole30, Cannabis-Infused Chicken Fingers\n\n* 2 chicken breasts, trimmed and cut into strips\n* 1 egg, beaten\n* 2 cups almond meal\n* 20 mg cannabis tincture of your choice (Adjust according to your tolerance and preference.)\n* Spices to taste: salt, pepper, dried parsley, paprika, others of your choice\n\n### How to Make Whole30, Cannabis-Infused Chicken Fingers\n\nI’ve added the cannabis tincture at the egg wash step, but if you’re making this for the family or are in a situation where only some people want to consume, you can add the marijuana tincture into any Whole30-approved ketchup, mustard or other sauce for dipping instead. \n\nServes 2\n\n1. Heat your oven to 375 degrees F.\n2. Trim any fat off of the two chicken breasts and cut them into strips.\n3. Crack an egg in a Pyrex bowl and beat. Mix in your cannabis tincture if you want to infuse the entire dish.\n4. Fill a second Pyrex bowl with the almond meal. Add the spices of your choice. (My favorites are paprika and garlic salt, and I probably mix in about 2 tbsp of each.). Be liberal with the salt and pepper. \n5. Take the chicken fingers and put them in the egg bowl, making sure each piece gets fully covered. If your bowl isn’t big enough, you may need to do half of the chicken at a time.\n6. Next take the chicken fingers out of the egg bath and place into the almond meal. It’s best to do this one at a time with a fork. Make sure to shake off any excess egg before the chicken goes into the almond meal. \n7. Roll the chicken strip in the almond meal, coating it completely.\n8. Place your chicken finger on a lined baking sheet; repeat with the rest of the chicken fingers. \n9. Bake your chicken fingers for 10–12 minutes, then remove them from the oven. Flip them over and bake the other side for another 10–12 minutes. \n10. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. \n11. If you opted not to add your cannabis tincture to the egg wash, now’s the time to add it to any dips you serve with the chicken fingers. You can give each person an individual ramekin of your dip, ketchup or mustard so that they can add their personal marijuana dose according to their tolerance level and desired effects. \n\nPhoto credit: [Sara Dubler](https://unsplash.com/@_ahungryblonde_)\n\nIf you’re new to cannabis and want to learn more, take a look at our [Cannabis 101](https://hellomd.com/articles/cannabis-101-what-you-need-to-know-about-marijuana/) index of articles. Whenever Popeye saw trouble brewing, he’d eat a can of spinach, and suddenly his biceps would bulge like bowling balls. While the Popeye cartoon may have exaggerated spinach’s effects on the body, there are definitely big health benefits to be had from this leafy green.\n\nFor one, spinach is loaded with iron, which improves red blood cell function. As you may remember from high school biology, red blood cells transport oxygen through the body, and they increase your energy levels.\n\nYour bones will also thank you for eating spinach, because of the plant’s high levels of vitamin K and calcium. One cup of cooked spinach provides a quarter of your daily recommended calcium intake, and there’s hardly any other food on the planet that can match spinach’s vitamin K content.\n\nEven your eyes get to enjoy the benefits of spinach due to the high vitamin A content. One single cup of boiled spinach provides an entire day’s worth of vitamin A. \n\nFinally, spinach is also a great source of:\n\n* Vitamin C\n* Manganese\n* Magnesium\n* Vitamin B2\n\n### Get the Health Benefits of Artichoke From Your Cannabis-Infused Dip\n\nMeanwhile, the artichoke was once considered a delicacy by the Ancient Greeks and Romans. We’d like to think this was because of its nutritional benefits, but it probably had more to do with the fact that they thought the artichoke was an aphrodisiac. \n\nWhile we can’t make any claims for the artichoke’s ability to get you in the mood, this vegetable is at least packed with nutrients. To start, it’s one of the best sources of antioxidants, which help protect your body against cancer and heart disease.\n\nRELATED: [DIY RECIPE: CANNABIS-INFUSED STUFFED ARTICHOKES MADE WITH LOVE](https://hellomd.com/articles/diy-recipe-cannabis-infused-stuffed-artichokes-made-with-love/)\n\nThanks to its high fiber content, artichokes also promote regular bowel movements. The cynarin in this vegetable promotes improved liver health and helps fight against bad cholesterol. Artichokes have even been found to be effective at preventing skin cancer.\n\nAdditionally, artichokes are a good source of:\n\n* Vitamin K\n* Vitamin B9 (folate)\n* Iron\n* Magnesium\n* Copper\n* Calcium\n* Phosphorous\n* Manganese\n* Potassium\n\n### How to Make Cannabis-Infused Spinach Artichoke Dip\n\nSo now that you know why spinach and artichokes are so good for you, why not combine all these health benefits into a delicious cannabis-infused dip?\n\nWhen making a cannabis-infused dip of any kind, it’s important to keep the fat content relatively high. The cannabinoids in cannabis, like tetrahydrocannabinol\n(THC) and cannabidiol (CBD), are fat-soluble, meaning they’re absorbed by fat in the body when eaten. The more fat that’s in food, the better the body can access the cannabinoids.\n\nRELATED: [WHY YOU NEED TO EAT FAT WITH YOUR CANNABIS](https://hellomd.com/articles/why-you-need-to-eat-fat-with-your-cannabis/)\n\nLuckily, spinach artichoke dip tends to have a pretty high fat content anyway, and the following cannabis-infused version is no different. For this rendition, we’ve kept things as simple as possible—all you really need to do is mix the ingredients together and throw them in the oven. So without further ado, let’s get started.\n\n### Ingredients for Cannabis-Infused Spinach Artichoke Dip\n\nMakes approximately 10 servings.\n\n* 10-oz package of frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained\n* 14-oz can of chopped artichoke hearts\n* 2 garlic cloves, minced\n* 1/2 cup sour cream\n* 1/2 cup mayonnaise\n* 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated and divided\n* 1 cup  mozzarella, grated and divided\n* 10 droppers full cannabis tincture of your choice (As listed, this works out to one dose per person. But the amount of cannabis tincture can be adjusted according to the number of guests, tolerance levels and desired effects.)\n\nHow to Make Cannabis-Infused Spinach Artichoke Dip\n\n1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.\n2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the spinach, artichoke hearts, garlic, sour cream, mayonnaise, half the Parmesan cheese, half the mozzarella, and your desired amount of cannabis tincture. Mix together until smooth.\n3. Pour the mixture into a baking dish (a 9x9 casserole dish or even a pie dish should work fine) and sprinkle the remaining Parmesan and mozzarella on top.\n4. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.\n5. Let cool and enjoy.\n\nPhoto credit: [Melissa Walker Horn](https://unsplash.com/@sugercoatit)\n \nIf you’re new to cannabis and want to learn more, take a look at our [Cannabis 101](https://hellomd.com/articles/cannabis-101-what-you-need-to-know-about-marijuana/) index of articles. I must admit, at first, I wasn’t a fan. If you have naturally oily skin like me, the thought of putting more oil on your face gives you nightmares about the skin issues you thought you’d left behind in high school. \n\nBut even if your skin is on the oily side, a good face oil can lock in moisture, which is particularly important during winter, and if you’re regularly exposed to sun and wind. It’s not the same kind of oil that clogs your pores. So if you use the right carrier oil for your skin, it won’t make you break out.\n\nFOLLOW US ON [FACEBOOK](https://www.facebook.com/pg/hellomdcompany/posts/) & [INSTAGRAM](https://www.instagram.com/hellomd_com/?hl=en)\n\nA great way to get even more bang for your buck when it comes to a rehydrating oil is to add some hemp-derived cannabidiol (CBD) oil. CBD has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties so can help with red, dry and acne-prone skin. \n\n### Choose the Elements of Your CBD Face Oil Wisely\n\nBefore we get to the recipe, let’s talk ingredients. There are several ways to customize your CBD face oil to fit your skin’s needs, so you should consider all of the various options for each element of the oil:\n\n* **Carrier oil:** The carrier oil forms the base of your CBD face oil and will make up the bulk of your final product. You’ll want to choose an oil that targets your skin concerns. Some options are:\n\n * Coconut oil, which is a good choice if you have dry skin. \n * Caster oil is a great carrier oil if you’ve got acne-prone skin. \n * Argon oil not only moisturizes, but also provides sun protection. \n * Olive oil locks in moisture and has antioxidant properties.  \n\n* **CBD oil:** There are lots of CBD oils out there. First things first, make sure your CBD oil comes from hemp organically grown in either North America or Europe. Any oil with untraceable origins may be full of pesticides and other harmful ingredients that could wreak havoc on your skin. If you have particularly sensitive skin, choose a pure CBD oil without any added fragrances or essential oils.\n\nRELATED: [WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR WHEN BUYING HEMP CBD OIL](https://hellomd.com/articles/what-to-watch-out-for-when-buying-hemp-cbd-oil/)\n\n* **Essential oils:** Speaking of essential oils, they’re something you can add to your CBD face oil for their pleasing aromas as well as some health-boosting effects. These health benefits are thanks to their terpenes. [Terpenes are oils secreted by a plant’s glands](https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/5a99e9f4f24d1300077ccb6f/cannabis-terpenes-pack-a-therapeutic-punch), and are responsible for their smell and taste. They also have wellness benefits of their own and by including them, you can amplify the benefits of your CBD oil. \n\n * Citrus essential oils contain the terpene [limonene](https://hellomd.com/articles/know-your-cannabis-terpenes-limonene/). Limonene will make your CBD oil smell fresh and fruity, and it will also boost the oil’s antibacterial properties. Limonene also has mood-boosting properties too, so your CBD oil can help put a smile on your face while it nourishes.\n * Lavender essential oils feature the terpene [linalool](https://hellomd.com/articles/know-your-cannabis-terpenes-linalool/). Linalool is a calming terpene, which can help with anxiety or even poor sleep. There’s a reason why so many products formulated to help people calm down and unwind smell like lavender. A CBD face oil with lavender would be a great option if you want to include your CBD face oil in your nighttime skin care routine as you get ready for bed.\n * An essential oil with the aroma of pine is full of the terpene [pinene](https://hellomd.com/articles/know-your-terpenes-pinene/). Pinene not only smells fresh, but it’s also been shown to have anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving and antiviral properties. If you suffer from cold sores, pinene is the terpene to add to your CBD oil. \n\n### How to Make Your Rehydrating CBD-Infused Face Oil\n\n1. You’ll need a dropper bottle or another kind of small bottle with a regular or spray top. Try to use a glass bottle as this is not only more environmentally friendly than a plastic one is, but it will protect the ingredients better, too. A funnel will also be handy, but isn’t required. \n2. Take 2.5 oz of your carrier oil and pour it into your bottle. \n3. Add a few drops of your essential oil. Mix and smell to see if the aroma is strong enough for your liking. Add any extra drops slowly, smelling often. You could go up to as many as 25 drops.\n4. Next it’s time to add the CBD oil. You can adjust this as needed, but around 1/4 oz is a good amount.\n5. Mix well and shake before each use. \n\nPhoto credit: [Kristin Vogt](https://www.pexels.com/@kristingroth2)\n","image":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"base64":"data:image/jpeg;base64,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","aspectRatio":1.3888888888888888,"src":"/static/6cab57174243d83e1ba16c4bad66c5a0/14b42/064dbad15722763ed4245d14508faab4.jpg","srcSet":"/static/6cab57174243d83e1ba16c4bad66c5a0/f836f/064dbad15722763ed4245d14508faab4.jpg 200w,\n/static/6cab57174243d83e1ba16c4bad66c5a0/2244e/064dbad15722763ed4245d14508faab4.jpg 400w,\n/static/6cab57174243d83e1ba16c4bad66c5a0/14b42/064dbad15722763ed4245d14508faab4.jpg 800w,\n/static/6cab57174243d83e1ba16c4bad66c5a0/47498/064dbad15722763ed4245d14508faab4.jpg 1200w,\n/static/6cab57174243d83e1ba16c4bad66c5a0/0e329/064dbad15722763ed4245d14508faab4.jpg 1600w,\n/static/6cab57174243d83e1ba16c4bad66c5a0/43576/064dbad15722763ed4245d14508faab4.jpg 3653w","srcWebp":"/static/6cab57174243d83e1ba16c4bad66c5a0/58556/064dbad15722763ed4245d14508faab4.webp","srcSetWebp":"/static/6cab57174243d83e1ba16c4bad66c5a0/61e93/064dbad15722763ed4245d14508faab4.webp 200w,\n/static/6cab57174243d83e1ba16c4bad66c5a0/1f5c5/064dbad15722763ed4245d14508faab4.webp 400w,\n/static/6cab57174243d83e1ba16c4bad66c5a0/58556/064dbad15722763ed4245d14508faab4.webp 800w,\n/static/6cab57174243d83e1ba16c4bad66c5a0/99238/064dbad15722763ed4245d14508faab4.webp 1200w,\n/static/6cab57174243d83e1ba16c4bad66c5a0/7c22d/064dbad15722763ed4245d14508faab4.webp 1600w,\n/static/6cab57174243d83e1ba16c4bad66c5a0/35449/064dbad15722763ed4245d14508faab4.webp 3653w","sizes":"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px"}}}}}]}},"pageContext":{"limit":12,"skip":36,"numPages":10,"currentPage":4,"id":5676,"name":"Recipes & Diy","slug":"recipes-and-diy","country":"US"}},"staticQueryHashes":["3949754563","4179947113","4202924991"]}
